It is an incredible fusion of #technology and martial arts! #VirtualReality #VR in sports, particularly in disciplines like Taekwondo, offers a unique opportunity to elevate training and competition. Engaging in a high-intensity, full-contact-like experience without physical contact not only minimizes injury risks but also challenges athletes mentally and strategically. In such VR competitions, fighters can experience realistic, #immersive environments that simulate real opponents and scenarios. It helps them refine their timing, decision making, and reflexes in ways that might not be possible with traditional training methods. With VR, athletes can also receive immediate feedback and review performance in real time, which speeds up their learning curve and enhances their mental toughness. This approach, blending physical discipline with #cuttingedge technology, will likely become more common in amateur and professional sports as #VRcapabilities continue to improve. #VR #virtualreality #sports #ortmor #ortmoragency #AR #MR #XR #mixedreality #augmentedreality

[VR Research Study] Interesting how effective & time-saving VR workouts are! A new research study by the University of Victoria showed that a VR workout is equivalent to common cardio and fitness activities such as running, boxing, and swimming. The study shows it can help people meet their recommended physical activity guidelines (75 minutes a week of vigorous activity) in half the time. Have you tried VR workouts? I mostly use my Quest headset for various marketing experiments, I need to give this a try.

EHF Heads of Refereeing Convention Excellent event run by the EHF in Vienna, with all the Handball National Federations. It was a pleasure to be involved and share my experience on how National Federations should approach Video Replay. “How we can optimize the use of VR?” “How we can achieve success in the human interaction during all the VR practical process?” “What are the VR challenges?” “The importance of the perspective!” “The difference between interpretation and factual decisions!” These were some of the subjects that we discuss and the final conclusions were: 1. Technology is not against the Referees, is to help them; 2. The final decision will be always from the Referees; 3. The challenge is to know how we should approach and use VR for the benefit of refereeing and the sport. Thanks George S. Bebetsos for the invitation to contribute. #EuropeanHandballFederation #refereeingconvention #videoreplay #var #handball #technology #cooperation #development #manager #instructor Photo: Eva Manhart

Strike of tennis players? Sorry to hear that some tennis players are considering a strike due to AI avatars replacing them in tournaments. I completely understand the concern, but I want to assure you that human players will always be cherished for their unique skills. The unpredictability of a well-placed shot, the raw emotion on the court, and the spontaneous missteps are all elements that AI can never truly replicate. Well, let’s better say, AI might never can... #tennis #esports #ai #vr #sporttech #atp #wta #wilson #sportradar By the way, that is MY personal digital twin.

The Paralympics stir as much emotion as the Olympics in Paris! Wheelchair tennis 🎾 is one of the standout sports capturing everyone's attention. Why? It’s a blend of incredible determination from athletes with a fast-paced game where the ball can bounce twice, creating thrilling moments 🔥 Matches on the iconic courts of Roland Garros show that physical limitations are no barrier to sporting excellence. What’s more, technology is revolutionizing how athletes prepare: 🦽 Innovative, lightweight wheelchairs designed for speed and agility, 🥽Virtual reality (VR) enabling precise training in simulated environments, 🧠Artificial intelligence analyzing movements to optimize performance and speed up recovery after injuries. 🤔 Isn't it fascinating how the combination of human determination and technology can create such an exciting spectacle? #wheelchairtennis #paralympics #technology #innovation #sports

3wWhile this interesting for the purpose of training, I wonder how will this prepare to take the hit and bear the pain that happens in an actual fight.
