I always thought AI would take the soul out of my #writing, but I have discovered that a good writer can write passionately about a message and use AI to style that message in a businesslike manner. The hardest challenge for a quality #ghostwriter is to reflect the tone of his client. A ghostwriter can work on the biography of a manicurist, write an article on the chemical makeup of rust removers the next day, and blog about the merits of Bitcoin- all on the same day. It's like an actor who has to become the wise old man of the prep school in 18th century England, and a few hours later transform himself into Charlie the Chicken for the afternoon kids show. Bottom line: If you hire someone to write for you, he must convey your message in your language. He cannot take liberties with his "writing ability." for that will distort your message. Writing is hard... Especially authentic/original content. If you're not a writer (or want to save boatloads of time) try this: - Open up voice memos on your smartphone. - Press record. - Talk about the topic(s) you were going to write about. - Go to Rev.com (or any transcription tool). - Upload the recording. - Get the AI transcription. - Repurpose the transcription into your posts/book/texts etc. This approach keeps the content original (the transcription is your words). I saw a tweet yesterday that said "AI is a bad writer. But it's a great at critiquing." Here's how I use that mindset as a freelance writer ⬇️⬇️ 1.) DON'T ask ChatGPT or Claude or whatever platform you want to write your work. The output, especially without great prompting, is formulaic and bland. Even casual readers can see right through it. Also, you're a writer. Using AI to "write" your content isn't helping you improve your skills or knowledge. Know what does? Writing. 2.) DO use AI tools to assess your writing. I often upload a draft and ask for suggestions to improve it. You can get specific with things like tone or take a broader look at the overall structure. AI excels at processing large amounts of data and making a concise summary. You can quickly get an outside perspective on your work this way. Keep in mind, AI will never replace a great editor or critique partner.
