Whilst for some people Christmas is coming too soon, we’re looking ahead into 2025 and one of the busiest January’s in White Space history. December is typically quiet in the exhibition world, for an obvious reason, and whilst there are a number of events that we support clients with, this is usually our time to wind down the year and prepare for the next one. This December, however, we're preparing a busy production schedule to give us an advantage for the January start and our biggest potential client listing at The Toy Fair in London and its German counterpart Spielwarenmesse eG. Alongside Funko whom we have supported at these two shows, we are working with another existing client who is looking to add this event series to their calendar and three new clients. The fun doesn’t stop there; we’re also preparing clients for Bett Global, the world’s biggest EdTech event at London’s Excel, Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) in early February. and are creating some exciting designs for new clients exhibiting at 100% Optical in March. It’s great to see the exhibition industry really finding traction again after the lull that hit our sector during and just after COVID. MODEX achieved its largest event in Atlanta by filling all three halls at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) for the first time in its 12-year history. The biennial manufacturing and supply chain trade show for North and South America, held March 11-14, attracted 48,733 registered manufacturing and supply chain professionals and 1,164 exhibitors across 580,000 net square feet of exhibit space. With a 32% increase in registered visitors compared to MODEX 2022, which had 37,047 registered attendees, the 2024 show surpassed expectations, according to officials from MHI, the international material handling, logistics, and supply chain industry association that owns and produces the event. This is it! My big break! I've finally made it to the big leagues... Being in the industry for just shy of two years now, I've heard so many things about this show. 70,000 people. The 2nd largest American tradeshow behind Consumer Electronics World Expo. Floor so big it's impossible to cover it all. And I get to enjoy that California sunshine for 5 or 6 days. ℹ️ Review of P'tit Clown 4th participation at the Spielwarenmesse Nuremberg trade fair 🤡 It was personally my 2nd edition at the world's largest toy fair🌍, which took place from January 30th to February 3rd. We participated with the resources of a family-owned company, meaning with all our heart in the stand that we designed and set up ourselves, and with a modest but valiant team of 2 people on site, including Christophe Jombart and then Vincent MAGRO. When I compare it with some of our competitors who came with a delegation of more than 20 people (equivalent to 2 soccer teams combined), I think we have therefore focused on quality rather than quantity. Our unique objective on site: to develop our business outside of France. With 85% of our turnover generated in France, P'tit Clown still has a lot to do to continue its export development🚀. It is customary to say that large trade fairs of this type are becoming less effective with decreasing traffic. However, one month after packing up our stand, I have a very positive initial assessment of Nuremberg 2024 : ➡️ Beyond the visibility with the 70,000 professionals who traverse the aisles, we returned with many qualified prospect contacts, the majority of whom were Germans, only 4 French, and Europeans in general, from over 20 different countries. ➡️ Out of these contacts, some have already placed orders on our website ptitclown.com, coming from Germany, France, the UK, Sweden, Poland, Norway, Montenegro, Latvia, and Italy. And more orders are expected in the coming weeks. The amount of orders placed have already reached the costs generated by the show⚖️. ➡️ Having offices in Normandy 🐄 has many advantages but also some drawbacks. The most significant of these is not being able to easily see some of our clients located in Georgia, DOM TOM, Iraq and all over Europe. This trade fair is therefore the perfect opportunity for an annual meeting !🥂 ➡️ P’tit Clown sells 3,500 references spread across what we call the permanent collection, as well as the two major highlights of Halloween and Christmas. Our Halloween catalog with over 1,000 references is what generates the most interest, especially with our dozens of automatons 🧟♀️ and giant structures 💀, creating a "wow" effect ! Trade Shows are dying... I was at ISPO last week, talk to people, seeing and hearing the same story. Trade Shows now-a-days have lost their buzz and they are only getting worse. They are stuck in a negative cycle... Floor Space is too expensive, running a stand is too expensive - so brands don't turn up the next year Then the visitors get disappointed because the brands are uninspiring. So they don't turn up the next year Then the exhibitors get disappointed because the visitors are not bothering to come...so they don't go the next year. In the meantime, 50% of the show is now somehow international sourcing - which is not what the show was about...so visitors and exhibitors gets frustrated Organisers need to do something drastic. Most likely take a hit for a few years on profits and find a way to get the big brands to return and invest. Bring back the 'Show' part of trade show ... which is companies wanting to invest into amazing spaces, which draw in visitors. When I was at ISPO 15 years ago, it was alive...this time it felt like it was more in the 'care home' stage. Only really textiles, 50% factories, very few big brands, no buzz! #Tradeshows #IPSO
