The bluefin is always a point of reference (along with the Megamouth at Boola Bardip of course) of a great and successful glycerol mount
The 4-metre-long blue marlin specimen on display at the Museum is certainly one of a kind! These magnificent fish are typically found on the other side of the Atlantic, but when this specimen was beached in Wales in 2016, Museum scientists knew they had to act quickly to preserve it! Preserving this marine marvel in glycerol for both our scientists to study and our visitors to enjoy has helped us learn more about how these enormous fish live.

In addition to the data we publish on MNAHA Collections, where we focus on the display and contextualization of the objects in the museum's collection, we want to test publishing some curated datasets on data.public.lu in order to make them more accessible to people who wish to work with them. The first one is about the Jospeh Kutter collection of the MNAHA and its exhibition history. Let me know what you think! https://lnkd.in/dX2c4x9a
