There are so many posts that have described and documented the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene. As we wait for power, internet, and cell service to be fully restored along the path of destruction, my thoughts have turned to how we build more #resilience in our infrastructure. This is a storm drain pipe into a neighborhood pond that serves as stormwater detention. Infrastructure services of any type only work when maintained. Maintaining utility ROWs, pipes, channels, ponds, stream and river corridors, and dams may not be at the top of the list when people think about #InfrastructureInvestments but it is absolutely going to get you return on every dollar.
