Is Doing Business with the U.S. DoD Right for My Business? The U.S. Department of Defense awarded $470 billion in contracts in 2023, which is expected to increase again in 2025. With so much demand for traditional military and non-military items like healthcare, construction equipment, MRO services, transportation, and environmental services, the U.S. DoD appears to be a very attractive market. However, doing business with the U.S. DoD requires time and a disciplined approach, which may not be right for every organization. If this is indeed true, it is not amusing, as it would imply that the users of WebEx lack proper judgment. I find it challenging to believe this narrative on a larger scale. Why do I harbor doubts? Firstly, because both the host and participants have the ability to identify everyone present in the meeting. In the presence of a fifth party, the other four individuals should have been able to recognize this anomaly. Secondly, as the host, you have the option to secure the conference and expel any unwanted participants. Thirdly, the session was additionally recorded, a process that requires the necessary authorization and access to WebEx records if it unfolded as described. I am skeptical about the accuracy of the story as it has been portrayed in the press. I suspect the possibility of interception in Singapore, perhaps through the public WLAN in the hotel or the Bluetooth headset. My doubts extend to the transparency of the German government, as I question whether they will provide full and truthful details. The recording published by the Russians impressively proves that our Chancellor is not exactly trustworth and contradicts statements he made in the recent past Additionally, it's crucial to consider the version of WebEx that was utilized. Was it the military-grade version, and if so, was it employed in the correct manner? Team, I can't thank Northop Grumman enough for their Military infosession. They have great resources to help tranistioning veterans. My biggest takeaway was something small, but had a meaningful impact: Put "Skillbridge Eligible" on your resume. Those two words will trigger recruiters to look at you harder. (Disclaimer: I am not saying it is a garauntee hire; still have to apply, interview, be the "right fit" - all the hard work). You are telling the company that you are eligible to come on board sooner, and that you may be the right fit to train, risk-free to the company, then have the opportunity to transition full-time. As part of the ongoing drive to be as inclusive as possible of all organisations with advanced manufacturing capabilities, the UK MoD (Defence Support) is looking for updates and new submissions to the virtual networking ‘elevator pitch’ briefs previously submitted in late 2022 under Project TAMPA (Additive Manufacturing as a Service or AdMaaS). Previous submissions, in the form of an MS Powerpoint slide deck, are stored on a central sharepoint system called Kahootz, along with the instructions on what should be included within the slide deck. All members of the AdMaaS working groups are able to access this area of Kahootz. The aim of the virtual networking opportunity is for organisations to advise and inform existing UK Defence in-service suppliers of their ability to support, meet or enable an advanced manufacturing capability gap that may exist, with the potential to be able to collaborate or become a consortia member within the Project TAMPA spirals.
