Motivation Monday Honoring National Aviation Day with a quote from legendary US Air Force pilot Chuck Yeager: "There is no such thing as a natural born pilot. Whatever my aptitudes or talents, becoming a proficient pilot was hard work, really a lifetime's learning experience. For the best pilots, flying is an obsession, the one thing in life they must do continually. The best pilots fly more than the others; that's why they're the best. Experience is everything. The eagerness to learn how and why every piece of equipment works is everything. And luck is everything, too." -Chuck Yeager Reread and replace 'pilot' with your career title, your home title (mom, dad, sister, brother, etc.), and any other title you proudly own to really feel the impact of this one. Chuck will forever be a legend in the aviation-space due to showing up, working hard, and continuous-learning attitude. You can make big impact, too. #motivationmonday #showingup #practicemakesprogress #nationalaviationday #yougotthis

As the sun sets on my first season on the Red Arrows, this isn't just an opportunity to share some of my favourite sun set pictures - but also to reflect on a question I've been asked countless times; what's the best thing about your job? The answer is simple; people. The reason why is also simple. Unlike many military organisations, every person on the Red Arrows has applied to be there. This means they are all invested in, and passionate about, the output. This makes being a leader a pleasure and a privilege. ♦️ 100% availability of a 9-ship to every single UK, European and Canadian air show, and official flypast, of the 60th Diamond Season. 🍁 Transiting twelve aircraft across the Atlantic, through 4 countries, across 12 locations, spanning 6-weeks, and arriving back on time - as part of the MAPLE HAWK tour. Individually these are incredible achievements. Together they are immense. On top of this, all of the above, the intense training for 6 months in advance, and much more, was achieved in the same year as the 50th anniversary of the Hawk T1 aircraft that we use. The oldest aircraft still serving the team entered service in 1977 and they no longer make spare parts. More than ever, what this year has demonstrated to me is how a cohesive team can be greater than the sum of its parts - and how important motivation, a clear mission and a shared vision is to delivering phenomenal results. So why this post? 1. A cheap excuse to share some of my favourite photos. 🌅 2. In a world where the increasing benefit of AI is pushed upon us, I find it important to remember what endures throughout. It is not the achievements of technology that define us, but the achievements of people. 👥👥👥

On this Pilot's Day.I wish all fellow aviators fair tailwinds and blue skies. In fact, I want to share the pride and most mesmerizing moment in an aviator's life - the first solo flight. Even though you may have seen the Earth from above many times, the experience of leaving terra firma and reaching the skies alone offers a different perspective. It is literally a groundbreaking moment. Once you have done it and managed to land the aircraft all by yourself and walk out of the cockpit, many things change. As a young aviator, the sense of responsibility slowly makes space in your consciousness. Your outlook towards men and machines climbs a ladder. Defying gravity fills you with a sense of pride and responsibility. After all these experiences, you become part of a magical industry or legacy you might refer to as aviation or a professional called a pilot.

Dear Fellow Aviators, As we navigate the skies, it's essential to remember the importance of our pilot logbooks. More than just a record of our flights, they serve as a vital narrative of our journey as aviators. A well-maintained logbook is as crucial as our license—especially in today's job market where the ability to document our experience accurately can influence career opportunities. Consider your logbook as your aviation love story, detailing not just the aircraft you've flown, but also the experiences and adventures that accompany each flight. As one wise pilot shared, without a proper logbook, the remarkable tales of hangar flying remain just stories—unproven and unrecorded. In this modern age, transitioning to an E-logbook offers a streamlined and efficient way to maintain accurate records while adhering to the required formats. Remember, precision matters, so ensure your logbook is accurate and up to standard! Wishing you all safe flights and happy flying!

In aviation, pilots are always plotting a course for higher altitudes where the air is smoother and the skies less crowded. Similarly, in our careers and as a team, setting our sights on loftier goals ensures that we are not complacently cruising at a lower altitude, susceptible to complacency and competitive threats. Dive into the Flight Plan to learn how we're taking our collective ambitions to new heights and discover how you might contribute to or benefit from our exciting new scholarship program. https://buff.ly/3SmDlgu
