Let us not wait for other people to come to us and call upon us to do great deeds. Let’s us instead be the first to summon the rest to the path of honor. Show yourself to be the bravest of all the captains, with more of a right to leadership than those who are our leaders at present. -Xenophon #leaders the time is now #leadup #quitlosingtalent

A powerful realization from a leadership role in theological education reveals that true Christian leadership is not about image or power but about becoming a person of no reputation, like Jesus. I want to feedback. Bet you think I’m about to complain about something. After all, complaining seems to be our national pastime. According to a CNA article “Singapore residents make 1.7 million complaints every year” through the OneService municipal app developed by the Ministry of National Development - that’s more than 4,600 cases a day. Yikes. What’s worse? Just skim through any social media, and be overwhelmed by online trolls who are multiplying like digital rabbits with rabies, bursting across the different platforms, while furiously tapping away on their keypads. Much of my career are in industries that are service providers, and boy, most of the customers were quick to leave a negative, sometimes personal, but ultimately unwarranted comment, when there is ever such a slight inconvenience. But strangely enough, when things are fine, or even a customer service staff who went above and beyond to help them in their matter, most might take it for granted, and treat it that this IS the norm. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not asking you to not raise a case if your life gets disrupted with much impact for a service that you are paying for. I’m asking everyone to give a positive feedback by paying a compliment when things ARE going well. It could be any service staff from your bank, coffee joint, or retail shop. For me, it’s an amazing pair of food stall staff whose service is simply astounding that I just had to drop a message to their boss to applaud their sincerity, patience, and passion. So before any of you who’s about to leave a 1-star review on a customer experience you just had, let’s pause, breathe and change the narrative from living in a culture of complaints to one that’s living in a culture of recognition - simply by leading with kindness first. For years, I saw God as a judgmental, harsh King. Consequently, I was judgmental and harsh with myself. Learning to see Him as the good King and the good Father that He is has unlocked me and my ability to make value in countless ways; and it's brought me a peace and compassion for myself and others that I didn't know was possible. How do you see God? And how might it be impacting who you are as a leader? Want to explore coaching to learn more? Let's connect!
Many leaders I know struggle to see God as both a good Father and a good King. Even more so, we struggle to see how He, as a good King and good Father sees us. But, when we can embrace and receive His goodness as both a Father and a King, our true potential as leaders begins to unfold. Want to lean into the leadership gift He's given you? Let's explore it together! #faithdrivenleader #godisgood #leadership

I was honored yesterday at church for successfully graduating from Leadership Newton County. The church is where I learned the most about being a leader. Growing up, I never knew about it; however, I'm grateful for the teachings and lessons! Leadership, to me, is about serving the people I lead and putting them before myself. A servant leader meets people where they are so they can climb alongside rather than charging ahead. When we decide to serve others as leaders, the team's success also becomes our success. Always remember, we are only as successful as the people we lead. #Leadership #ServantLeadership #TeamSuccess 🌟
