We recently had a candidate apply to one of our clients. She was earning $70k and was seeking $85k. Our client offered her $105k. They recognised her value and felt she was significantly underpaid. Not every company aims to exploit their employees. But I think this shows the importance of fair compensation practices and transparency in employer-employee relationships. When businesses prioritise honesty and fairness, they not only attract top talent but also nurture a culture where employees feel valued and respected. Meaning less turnover and fewer hiring/recruitment costs - it's a win-win!

Lenna Turner, CCP, Director of DEI at Salary.com, says that transparency is a major factor when it comes to avoiding shift shock.
