If you are applying the #Adobe Commerce / #Magento 2.4.4-p9 security patch, or the matching patches for other Adobe Commerce / Magento 2 versions, do not miss the undeclared dependency of Magento_Paypal and Magento_Checkout on the Magento_Csp module. If you are running with the Magento_Csp switched off, you will need a few additional steps to get the patched system working. Don't ask me how I know that.

An interesting project with an interesting learning. A Woocommerce site owner reached out, saying that the checkout is not working and keeps spinning forever, blocking the users from entering the payment details. It usually happens because of a Javascript issue. But today, I learned that it can be caused by the security measures taken by a web hosting service, too. In this case, an app inside the CPanel called SecurityMod is causing the problem on the Woocommerce Checkout. SecurityMod feature is enabled on certain web servers to avoid security attacks on the site. However, sometimes, the SecurityMod feature might become incompatible with WordPress Core Software and Woocommerce, causing the "406 unacceptable" error on the server side. The temporary solution was to disable the SecurityMod feature on the server. The permanent solution is moving to a Woocommerce-friendly hosting service like Cloudways, Kinsta, WPEngine, etc. Because when I replicated the same site on the Woocommerce-friendly servers, the checkout error was not present. This is because they implement security measures that are compatible with WordPress in a good way. Long story short: Whenever your Woocommerce checkout does not work, look for the "406 Unacceptable" error. If it is present, talk with the hosting service and resolve the problem. That means after that date, no more security updates, bug fixes, or fancy new features for #Drupal 7. If you have not Migrated yet, here are the possible next steps for reference : Plan Your Migration: Don't wait until the last minute! Start planning your migration to #Drupal10 or another suitable platform now. This will give you ample time to assess the scope of the project, budget accordingly, and choose the right migration path. Evaluate Your Options: Upgrading to Drupal 10 is the recommended course of action as it offers a plethora of improvements in security, performance, and features. However, for some cases, migrating to a different CMS might be a better fit as well. And Seek Help if Needed! By starting the planning process early, you can ensure a smooth transition and avoid potential disruptions to your website after January 5th, 2025.
