🥂 We’ve just closed the State of Frontend 2024 survey. 𝟲𝟬𝟳𝟳 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘀 from devs and tech managers from 138 countries — a new record! 🙏🏼 While we're summarizing the findings, I can share what Marketing has already learned: 𝗨𝗫 ⦿ A simplified user journey gets more responses This time, we didn't create a flashy landing page for the survey. We customized Typeform's default intro page, saved days of work, and raised survey completion by 11 p.p. ⦿ Survey respondents got personalized questions The first 3 questions in the Typeform survey helped us know who is answering. There were multiple sets of personalized questions based on the user's seniority and job position. This brought in far more responses and cut the drop-off rate by 25 p.p — even though the survey was 2x longer (!) 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 ⦿ Email marketing brought in a lava lake of responses An email campaign was sent to our contact base + paid and earned newsletters. Our contact base worked best for conversion and reach. I have mixed feelings about paid newsletters — hits and misses. Lesson learned. ⦿ Double effort put into influencer outreach paid off Just one tweet brought us 400+ responses. A cold outreach campaign we launched to reach technology managers had a crazy 10%+ response rate. 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽 ✅ One dedicated team — SOFE wasn't treated like a side-project ✅ Our Subject Matter Experts chatted with the community from day 0. Helped us with content and survey structure as well. An honorable mention goes to Marcin Gajda 🙂 𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁 $0 spent on paid ads. What? I know. They were less effective than other channels last year. So we dropped them. No regrets. The State of Frontend makes me so proud - I would like to send my congratulations again to Bartosz Piasecki, Aleksandra Dąbrowska, Estera Trojanowska, Krzysztof Poremba, Gustav Serizawa 👏🏼 Hope this post taught you something 👋🏼 #B2BMarketing #MarketingStrategy #TechInsights

Michał Kowalski & Marek Gajda impressive work!
👋 B2B Marketer. Making people want to chat without cheating.
3moIncredible results. And I'm not praising myself 🤣 My role was minimal. My congratulations to the team! Another fun fact... Most frontend professionals responded to an email with the most plain title: 🌍 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺
