This video serves as a poignant reminder of the transformative journey a student undertakes over twelve years. Our collective mission is to motivate, guide, and educate students, equipping them for the next phase of their lives. It is crucial that we help them unearth their passions and adequately prepare for their future endeavors.
Throughout these twelve years, students are presented with diverse pathways - be it pursuing higher education, continuing with their CATE program, or enlisting in the military. The ultimate goal is to nurture them into proactive individuals who contribute meaningfully to their communities. Here's to the invaluable task of shaping promising futures over the span of twelve impactful years.

📢 Historic Moment for Indigenous Justice and Healing 📢
Today, we honor the resilience of Native communities as President Biden makes a long-overdue apology for the trauma caused by Indian boarding schools. At SDEEC, we stand with survivors and their families in South Dakota, advocating for an educational system that reflects our history, culture, and strength. Now is the time for SD schools to follow this leadership and teach truth and resilience.

I don't understand why more people are not watching and sharing this video. It is deeply moving and offers critical substantive actions that Yeshiva University has been taking since 10/7 under the leadership of Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman.
First, Rabbi Dr. Berman discusses the heroic actions of his son, protecting not just Israel but the entire free world on the front lines of the war against barbarism. Next, he shares how hard that is for him as a parent and yet how proud he is.
Later, there is a discussion alluding to significantly increased enrollment at YU, which is not by accident. Rather, it is part of a brilliant and morally clear-eyed concerted movement led by Rabbi Dr. Berman to create a safe haven for Jews and others who feel unsafe on other campuses. A "helicopter mission," so to speak, to save victims at colleges where hate, harassment, and violence are allowed to rage.
EVERYONE should watch this video, and we will be promoting it up on our S.A.F.E. Campus social media pages. No, I have no relationship with the University or with Rabbi Dr. Berman (although I am a proud graduate of YU's Cardozo School of Law).
One quibble with one anchor who falsely characterized Zionism as a political view. That is not true. Zionism is a part of the ethnicity of many Jewish people, part of the religious views of other Jewish people (including orthodox Jews like me), and invokes the very nationality of Israelis (Jews and non-Jews alike). In other words, it's fully protected under federal, state, and city discrimination laws. That's not politics. I do not at all blame Rabbi Dr. Berman for laying off the comment, but I feel it is important to set the record straight and say something here that he simply couldn't say on the air to an anchor panel that really did mean well. It was a beautiful interview that gave a platform to an incredible institution doing incredible things under absolutely superb leadership.
THIS is what a University President should be.

On Monday, I spoke with abc7NY as we commemorated the one year anniversary of the October 7 massacre and how, in this unprecedented time, Yeshiva University has risen to the moment as an educational beacon of light for our Jewish and diverse student populations. Watch below:
Learning how to respond in emergencies saves lives. Consider learning signs & risk factors of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and other challenges we all may face.
October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, and before it ends, we want everyone to know about warning signs, risk factors and what to do in a cardiac emergency. We encourage everyone to enroll in a First Aid/CPR/AED course so they can learn how to help save a life when someone goes into cardiac arrest and minutes matter.
Our Western Lake Erie chapter has partnered with BCSN and the Taylor Automotive Group to launch the ‘Heartbeats for High Schools,’ initiative to provide local high schools with tools, training, and information necessary to respond effectively to cardiac emergencies.
Chapter director Rachel Hepner said, “My goal is to ensure all high school students learn compression only CPR at some point during their high school years.”

For those who would like to read the speech (and see inside photos of the journey) then I'm happy to share the latest blog post from Continuing Vision's The Mortician's Blog. What was your journey like getting to where you are now?
🚨 Ahead of the King’s Speech tomorrow, we have published a new report, which sets out a route map for the new Government to address the attendance crisis as part of its mission to break down barriers to opportunity.
We are calling on the Government to commit to a ‘moonshot’ goal of every child in school and ready to learn by 2050. This ambitious goal will only be achieved by implementing a support-first, family-centric approach which recognises the underlying causes of absence.
In the report, we set out what the Government should achieve in the first 100 days, the first year, and the first five years, to move the country towards an inclusive education system which provides opportunities for all children.

Honouring Remembrance Sunday in Education: Fostering Legacy and Empathy in Our Teaching
As educators, Remembrance Sunday is an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices of those who served and how we can honour their legacy within our classrooms and community spaces. Many students may have personal connections to military service through family or community history, and recognising these backgrounds allows us to bring depth and compassion to our teaching.
Integrating empathy into our educational practices helps us honour these connections meaningfully. By embracing approaches that emphasise understanding, respect, and social awareness, we can support students in learning about the importance of remembrance and resilience. This perspective allows us to build a compassionate classroom environment that respects the experiences of those who served and creates a sense of community and continuity.
This Remembrance Sunday, let us renew our commitment to teaching practices that are not only academically enriching but also mindful of the legacy of those who came before. By creating a space that fosters empathy and remembrance, we encourage students to feel connected to a shared history and inspired by values of peace, resilience, and respect.
🕊️ Join us in sharing this commitment to empathy in education. Together, we can create learning environments that honor and sustain the values of remembrance and community.🕊️

Here is an interesting hypothesis we conducted regarding the implications that the recent 200 Public Square skyscraper sale could have on the public schools and safety forces as a result of a huge reduction in future tax revenue from the property. #officesale#ClevelandOhio#commercialrealestate
Commercial Real Estate Broker | Vice Chairman of Newmark Cleveland Office
The recent sale of 200 Public Square has surprising results to our community; specifically Cleveland's public school system and safety forces.
Overall, the loss in tax revenue due to the steep discount of the recent 200 Public Square sale could impact approximately 50 jobs (30 teachers and 20 police officers and/or firefighters). With healthcare costs factored in, the impact becomes approximately 40 jobs (24 teachers and 16 police officers and/or firefighters).
