I don't see where https://lnkd.in/eRUYBHmt defines "artificial intelligence". If you open Korvig's classic textbook "Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach" you will see from the table of contents https://lnkd.in/e559aCE3 that chapters 8 and 9 are inferencing of first-order logic. I.e. if/then statements. E.g. a blanket mortgage business rule like "disqualify if FICO < 680" will be illegal once the law as written takes effect in 2026.

If my company ever falls within the confines of this law, I will choose my company's future over Colorado and move. This is a failure for our state -- once a beacon of progression -- imposing a far reaching law without any knowledge or foresight into its long range impact. They have gutted the tech industry here... moreover, they've gutted the future of all companies here over the next decade as AI becomes necessary to stay competitive. Colorado will disappear into the abyss. No corporation will choose to do business here unless absolutely necessary -- it's not worth the energy. No tech person will choose to live here. It's not worth the potential threats and punishments of losing your job, being fired, or worse. To hold an employee legally responsible for an AI model is inane and insane. Shame on our representatives for shoving an authoritative law down our throats. Foolish and selfish. And to do it without the advice, guidance or support of the AI & Tech community goes to show they didn't want to create a safe law for the future. They wanted to put their name on the map. And they'll be remembered -- for destroying Colorado. Congratulations to our representatives. You've failed us. You've doomed our future.
