Helping nonprofits fundraise more effectively

"How can nonprofits measure the impact of board members in donor stewardship activities?" Great question! Involving board members in donor stewardship is invaluable, and measuring their impact goes beyond immediate outcomes. It's also about their engagement and willingness to participate, which is a win in itself. For your year-end campaign, you asked your board members to each make twenty phone calls on behalf of your animal shelter. Sasha manages to secure a $10K gift, while Mateo leaves 20 voicemails and has several subsequent phone calls. While the $10K gift is a thrilling win (congratulations!), bear in mind the phone calls are also important. The personal touch of a phone call—even if it doesn’t result in a direct donation—still strengthens the donor relationship and reinforces long-term stewardship. Tracking both quantitative metrics (like size of donation or number of calls) and qualitative insights (such as meaningful conversations or donor feedback) can provide a more holistic view of success. An engaged board that participates in fundraising and nurtures strong connections with donors will contribute to future success for your nonprofit. #nonprofitfundraising #stewardship

This is a fantastic reminder that board engagement is about more than just dollars raised! I'm curious, what other qualitative factors do you consider when evaluating board member involvement in donor stewardship? And how do you balance those with quantitative metrics like donation amounts? Would love to hear more about your approach!"
