"I just did it!" I'm excited to share that I've just completed a project from my backlog — an e-commerce website that I had planned to finish over the summer. Well, better late than never! The site is built using Next.js and TypeScript, with Shadcn UI for components. Day49 of #100daysofcode Today, I learned about React's Context API. It's a way to share data across components without passing props manually. I plan on using it in my shopping cart to manage cart data. I also wrote out pseudo code for functionalities I need to build. Optimize React Performance: Know the Tools When it comes to optimizing performance in React, two powerful tools stand out: React.memo and useMemo. Both help prevent unnecessary re-renders, but they work in different ways. Here’s a breakdown: → React.memo prevents re-rendering if its props haven’t changed. → It's best used for functional components that rely heavily on props. → React will compare previous props with the current ones, and only re-render if there’s a change. Example: ``` const MyComponent = React.memo((props) => {  return <div>{props.value}</div>; }); ``` → useMemo memoizes the result of a function and only recomputes it when one of its dependencies changes. → It’s useful for expensive calculations that you don’t want to run on every render. Example:   const expensiveCalculation = useMemo(() => {  return computeExpensiveValue(a, b); }, [a, b]); Key Differences: 👉 React.memo prevents the entire component from re-rendering if props don’t change. 👉 useMemo optimizes the computation within a component by memoizing the result. Both are great for optimizing React apps.
