'Tis the season of giving at loanDepot park! Over the past two weeks, we hosted two food distributions that provided more than 1,500 local families with meals ahead of the holidays. Members of our front office staff were joined by volunteers from presenting sponsors Tito's Handmade Vodka, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, AutoNation, and TECO Energy as everyone worked together to make on impact on the community. Additionally, we donated a check for $40,000 to Feeding South Florida®.

“Why should I donate?” Because donating to grassroots organizations like Yellowhammer Fund means resources goes back into the communities. It gives parents in need access to family support resources. It gives people the ability to minimize their risk of STIs and unintended pregnancy by having access to contraceptives. It builds community infrastructure and relationships by taking the time to get to know the people they serve as we travel to places often neglected by their government and mainstream organizations. Your donation funds an organization that doesn’t just talk about the harms of economic insecurity within our communities but also ensures that it’s pay model practices what it preaches. Fund locally. Fund with folks who show in their work they’re intentional about trying to change the material conditions of their communities. Don’t fund for show. Fund for change.
With the current state of affairs this week, we know it is easy to get caught in feelings of despair. However, we want to take a moment to reflect on the work that has been getting done in the midst of current events, and emphasize that we are still here for you all. We would not be able to continue these distros and be active in our neighborhoods without the support of the community we live and work in. Yellowhammer Fund will continue to be in the field working for and with you all, regardless of any obstacles. 💛 If you would like to assist us in moving this work forward, you can sign up to volunteer or donate using the links in our linktree. Thank you all for the endless support. 🩷 linker.ee/yellowfund

Last night was very humbling. I had the opportunity to return to the place that gave me the tools to restart my life, and I will forever be grateful for that. Since it is Movember, which focuses on Mens Health, I have a story to share. I recently passed the 6yr mark of sobriety, but it felt a bit different this year. The first 5 years of sobriety, I took it very seriously and put all my effort into changing my frame of mind from very negative to positive. After receiving my 5-year medallion last year, things changed. I started taking every aspect of my life for granted because my life on paper looked great. I didn't take my sobriety and spirituality serious, my ego was telling me, "Jeff, you don't need that anymore. You got this." I was isolating myself and didn't reach out to my positive influences, which led to months of depression and recently planning my demise. Normal people would say, "You have a great life, how could you be depressed?" I suffer from depression because I'm not one of the normal people. I've suffered from depression since I was 13 years old, but fortunately, I now have the tools to recover. I share this because many men don't have the tools available. Please, if you're suffering inside, make a call and talk to someone. It may save your life. Take care of yourselves. 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline #mensmentalhealth #sobriety #Movember #recovery #depression
Last night, it was an honor for Klass Drywall to attend Westover Treatment Centre's Thursday Night Meet & Greet. We were proud to present them with a donation raised through our second annual Golf Tournament, and we’re grateful to see how our community continues to come together for such an important cause. Klass Drywall President, Jeff Pomietlarz, also had the privilege of speaking at the event, where he shared his personal experiences and offered words of hope and encouragement to those in attendance. It was a truly inspiring evening, and we’re thankful to be part of a network that supports healing and growth. #GivingBack #CommunitySupport #KlassDrywallinc #WestoverTreatmentCentre #HopeInAction #construction

Great when businesses step up
Business Development Manager for Jarrold Group 👩🏼💻 I Scaling New Heights in Business I Non-Executive Director at CADAT
I've been looking forward to supporting Claire Abbs from Green Light Trust with running this event with them in April at Blickling Estate and today it just got even more exciting as James Fowler from Uptech Ltd has kindly offered to sponsor the event to allow Members and Non-Members to attend for free. #kind Thank you so much! These events are a great way for charities like GLT to showcase their hard work and a nice way for the business community to come together and network in the outdoors. You will probably need your wellies as let's face it, it probably isn't going to stop raining 😂 Hope to see you there - https://lnkd.in/e38y4CJg

Additional takeaway from my last post: want to help western North Carolina (WNC)? Adopt a church and make a donation directly. There is a huge logistical/ distribution problem getting aid out from the I40/US321 corridors right now (the two examples from Old Fort and Morganton provided last post plus the Town of Boone stopped taking donations Friday). As in the example provided, churches are actively engaged in helping their communities but are short on resources while local municipalities are being overrun with the influx of aid. Disaggregating the distribution approach is needed. Just as in business, small locally focused industrial distributors often provide value because of their access to and relationships with their customers. So too do churches have this access and these relationships and every community has a church. So just as I found Ed and Reggie at FBC Hildebran so too could you find a church in WNC and make a donation and help bypass the bottlenecks. Want to help WNC? Adopt a WNC church and make a donation directly.

The giving that gives back to you! Indulge in new experiences and create memories, while helping others. Your participation in our auction, and any donations given, will raise funds toward our mission and funding need. On average, it takes $250 to provide a one-time service to end food and clothing insecurities, or cover the cost of youth sports, music or STEM registration and fees, and other relief for one participant. Each $250 raised guarantees provision for someone's needs, or development, through one of HERB's program services. $500 provides program services for two (2) people in need $1,250 provides program services for five (5) people in need $2,000 provides program services for eight (8) people in need $5,000 provides program services for twenty (20) people in need Auction Page: herb.betterworld.org Website: herbnonprofit.org Campaign: givesendgo.com/GCAX5 YouTube: https://lnkd.in/g3hWsxF6
