The #tableau Workout Wednesday this week explores a couple of ways you can make your dashboards show user specific data. We have explored this in the past on a couple side projects but haven't applied it generally. This is definitely something we will be implementing for the reporting my team will be delivering moving forward. #wow2024 #datafam #dataviz https://lnkd.in/gnBzrYP8

After missing a couple of weeks, I'm back to tackling the #WorkoutWednesday challenges! This week for #WOW2024 Week 36, the task was to build a Measure Names Waterfall chart using Tableau without pivoting data. The challenge involved creating a waterfall chart for: 1) Gross Sales 2) Discounts 3) Net Sales 4) COGS 5) Profit Thanks to Sean Miller for this challenge. I've published my solution on @tabl —check it out! https://lnkd.in/en-U9pkZ #Tableau #DataVisualization #DataAnalytics #WorkoutWednesday

Last week's Workout Wednesday by Andy Kriebel took me a day and a half, but I got there--and learned quite a few things along the way! Did you try it? With Andy's restrictions, I could only use one parameter and no LODs, so I had to get outside my comfort zone and work with table calcs (extensively!), filter actions, and set actions. I had to learn or engineer some new hacks for the required formatting and on-chart KPIs. I had to refresh my memory on building a trellis of line charts. At least one how-to blog will be coming from this task! What did you find most challenging about this WoW? What would you like to see a tutorial on? Let me know in the comments! (Please ignore the weird formatting in the preview--you can click through to see my dynamic title in action.) #datafam #WoW2024 #Tableau #WorkoutWednesday
