“Politics is the art of the possible, the attainable – the art of the next best,” said Otto von Bismarck. With the likely sweeping victory, the expectation from the government would be to practice politics as the art of making possible what appears to be impossible. The Street will start depicting the same by pricing in the best possible economic outcome of the election results. The government seems to have factored in tall expectations and accordingly set its sights much higher. India is set to become the third-largest economy in the world with a GDP of $5 trillion in the next three years from the fifth-largest national economy now. WHY MODI WINS ON THE ECONOMY The Modi govt may not have presided over a higher rate of growth than some others. But that is a superficial and incorrect way to judge its performance. That is because the scenario a govt inherits matters, external environment matters and the quality of growth is crucial. When these factors are accounted for, the Modi govt has performed remarkably well, better than all. And that's why Modi is a winner. I explain using examples from the last 40 years.

With a powerful government comes powerful opposition For many reasons, this was a crucial government formation. It is the era of Modi 3.0, and I am hopeful and eager to see what the future unfolds.🔥 This term can be significant because the NDA is forming a government for the third time but with many firsts. ⚡ We will have a strong coalition government at the center after a long time!🇮🇳 The constructive opposition might bring the necessary checks and balances required for democracy. 🤜 What we can expect with this coalition government: ⤵ ➡ With allies like TDP and JD(U), there might be more welfare programs and more budget allocation for farmers, rural areas, and the lower strata. ➡ A good boost for employment through increased infrastructure investments and enhanced support for small and medium enterprises. ➡ More programs to strengthen the domestic economy in the wake of the risks posed by geopolitical factors. What might be different from the past ten years: ⤵ ➡ The Modi government has used robust policy intervention as a tool for economic growth, but with a coalition government, we might see policy paralysis. ➡ Possible delays in economic and fiscal reforms compared to previous years, which could impede progress on fiscal consolidation. Completely one-sided narrative. UPA's loan waivers (peak period ???) become cleaning up banking system, loans based on overexuberance or phone call during UPA becomes loan's ever-greening based under Bankruptcy law. These are just two examples. I can go on. Dhiraj may be a good economist, but unbiased opinion is one quality which is missing.
