At #COP29, governments and a coalition of NGOs announced the #Methane Abatement Partnership Roadmap. This collaborative effort, joined by the European Commission, Canada, Italy, Japan, the UK, the US and NGOs, aims to accelerate action toward achieving global methane reduction targets. The roadmap outlines clear, actionable steps that must supported by credible data and robust monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) frameworks—based on IMEO’s work including the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0—to ensure transparency and effectiveness.
