Personal pet peeve maybe… The cartoon below best sums up how most(or many) companies seem to think about measuring engagement and then using those surveys for action planning. Imagine the level of frustration in your people of you keep surveying them - sometimes, quite often every quarter - they keep telling you what they want you to fix and yet NOTHING CHANGES!! There has to be a better way A more honest and realistic way Or alternatively halt the surveys till you effect the change Every single engagement survey, pulse study - label it whatever generally tends to identify the same factors in broadly this order: - Career opportunities (capabilities/innovation/learning) - Management (coordination/speed/leadership) - Compensation - Culture (motivation and DEI) - Work life balance Is there a better way? #engagement #motivation #talent #change

Changing jobs doesn't always mean transitioning to a completely different role or field. Sometimes, it's about finding a better fit in terms of company culture, growth opportunities, compensation, or work-life balance. #Warehouseoperation #Worklifebalance #Corporateworklife

In the professional sphere, it’s often seen that individuals prioritize job responsibilities over personal well-being. But is this approach sustainable? Drawing from my own transitions across different career paths, including my strive towards financial freedom, it’s clear that achieving a work-life balance is essential. Professionals should consider setting boundaries and prioritizing personal development to enhance not only their quality of life but also their career productivity in the long run. #WorkLifeBalance #ProfessionalGrowth

"I hate the phrase ‘work-life balance’ because it implies there’s a difference between work and life." – Adrienne Wright Cleveland, during our conversation on the HR Brew Adrienne’s got a point. Why are we still pretending these are separate worlds? If you genuinely have a sense of belonging where you work—if you can bring your whole self—then work becomes a part of your life that you actually love. I realize some jobs are just jobs. But if we can create more companies where employees feel valued, and their work aligns with their purpose, we'll all benefit. Let's make it happen. A few years ago, when talking in depth about worklife balance, I emphasised that it consisted of a cultural paradigm shift: From the “culture of time” to the “culture of result” From the “culture of control” to the “culture of trust” A few years later, in the post-pandemic era that, needless to say, has had an impact on people management and ways of working, where are we? Not all organisations can’t be considered “good”, yet. What do I mean? A person could be the most efficient and productive ever, but it does exist a limit, which deals with what that person can humanly do. Those limits are concrete and they could not be stretchable anymore, at least in terms of time and workload. This is what differentiates “good” organizations from “bad” ones: the firsts know how to recognize that moment, which represents the perfect balance between efficiency and effectiveness at work. This is also the basis for building an enjoyable work environment. What about your experience? #worklifebalance #productivity #changelives
