Australian #biotech company All G has become the ‘first in the world’ to receive regulatory approval to sell recombinant bovine lactoferrin in China.  All G uses #precisionfermentation to develop high-value, animal-free proteins for use in a variety of markets – from functional foods to medical and infant nutrition.

Meet Kabrita, the first goat milk-based infant formula authorized by the FDA. It is made in the Netherlands and is naturally closer in nutritional composition to breast milk than cow milk. Of course breast milk is best but if that is not an option or if mom wants to supplement, I would seriously consider this as a great choice and would recommend to my clients/patients. Monensin, an ionophore antibiotic, is widely used in dairy cow nutrition to improve feed efficiency and prevent coccidiosis. It works by modifying the rumen microbial population, leading to increased propionate production and decreased acetate and butyrate. This contributes to improved energy balance, increased blood glucose levels, and decreased concentrations of NEFA and BHBA. Positive effects of monensin: Increased productivity: Monensin can increase milk production, especially in cows up to 150 DIM. Coccidiosis prevention: Effective in preventing coccidiosis in calves up to 6 months of age. Improved feed utilization: Increases feed efficiency by altering rumen fermentation.
