Standing on my own two feet! Almost a week ago, my doctor gave me permission to start bearing weight on my right leg while wearing the boot. The first time in 39 days. It was very mentally scary to take that first step. What if my ankle gave out? What if I fell? What if I damaged it even more? But I started slow. First with the assistance of crutches. Then a cane. And now, unassisted. I feel like this also applies when we start something new, especially something outside of our comfort zone. But the realization that we don't have to jump into the deep end immediately makes it a little more approachable. I know that it will also be scary the first time I walk without the boot and the first time I drive again, but I also know that it's a journey. Take that first step!

19hEven one small step at a time still results in significant progress compared to no action. Excited to see the full comeback!
