Change Leadership – Getting on the Same Page I had the privilege of helping a group of leaders to align their business change efforts. The CEO opened the session with just the right pitch and remained an active participant throughout the day – a big plus! By the end of the day, the leaders had: · Explored their change leadership commitments · A standard definition of ‘change management’ · Applied the PROSCI ADKAR model of individual change to their team leadership role · Identified further actions for ‘Leading Their Teams Through Change.’ So, a solid foundation for this business to build and align its efforts for effective change. #leadership #Change leadership

While the world spends £290 billion a year on leadership development, most new managers return to their teams, thinking... "How am I going to find the time to put this into action with everything else I have on my plate." That's because most leadership development programmes make one fundamental false assumption - that everyone who goes on the journey: A) Will make a great manager B) Wants to be a manager Want to avoid these assumptions and find the missing piece in solving your leadership conundrum – and finally get a return on your investment in leadership development? Grateful for Growth I had the privilege to cordinate and attend the LPI 360-Degree Leadership Challange, an eye-opening and transformative experience facilitated by the incredible Professor Hazel Gachunga and John Fraser III, both certified Leadership Challenge facilitators. 🙌🏾 The session revolved around The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership: Model the Way 🛤️ Inspire a Shared Vision 🔭 Challenge the Process 🔄 Enable Others to Act 🤝 Encourage the Heart ❤️ Together with my senior leadership team at Pwani Oil, we explored these practices in depth and reflected on the 30 leadership behaviors that will Empower not just our individual leadership journeys but also our impact across the organization and our customers. 🔑 Key takeaway: The challenge is to consistently increase the frequency of these behaviors in our day-to-day roles. Each behavior represents an opportunity to drive better outcomes, foster teamwork, and champion growth. I’m excited to bring these insights to life and grateful to my CEO, peers and facilitators for their support throughout this journey. Here's to leading with intention, purpose, and heart! 💪🏾 #Leadership #Growth #LPI360 #TheLeadershipChallenge #PwaniOil #ContinuousImprovement #InspiredLeadership #ExemplaryLeadership

Creating a strategy that is translated into actionable team and individual plans is critical to ensuring alignment across the organisation. Having regular and structured check-in's provides the opportunity for individuals to remain aligned, connected to the objective and feel empowered to perform. Interestingly as Gallup recently shared, this also helps develop high-performance relationships more than any other single leadership activity. How regularly are you meeting with your leaders? #leadership #highperformance #strategysystem

As leaders, it’s natural to care deeply about our teams. Sometimes, this can lead us to either overprotect or overly rely on our dependents. While well-intentioned, these tendencies can inadvertently impact productivity and growth. Recently, during a next-gen leadership training session with Shivangi Narula , I was introduced to the concept of Situational Leadership. This approach emphasizes adapting our leadership style based on the situation and the maturity level of our team members. Situational Leadership is a powerful tool that helps us strike the right balance—providing guidance when needed and fostering independence where it’s due. By embracing this flexibility, we can empower our teams to achieve their full potential while ensuring that our leadership is as effective and responsive as possible. I’m excited to apply these insights in my journey and look forward to seeing how it transforms our team's dynamics and outcomes. #Leadership #SituationalLeadership #TeamDevelopment #NextGenLeadership #learningoftheday #leadershiptraining

In my experience, the best ways to develop leaders and promote continued development is to first place a potential leader in some areas of the business that requires/exposes them to leadership. For example, leading start up meetings and going over business KPI’s or organizational strategies, providing leadership training or consulting with peers and mentoring colleagues. The best way to discover potential leaders are by providing them leadership roles and responsibilities. Just because an individual has potential to be a leader doesn’t mean that they will accept the responsibility that comes with it. #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipfirst

Sunday musing… Over the many years of helping leadership teams build alignment, their ability to be adaptable has shown to be critical. AQai - Adaptability Assessments & Coaching is the singular most important leadership development process to do the following: 1. Create deeper bonds through vulnerability 2. Provide a clear understanding of their 15 sub-dimensions informing leadership. 3. Give each leader the roadmap they need to improve. 4. Give the team tools and methods to have the real conversations that drive trust. This is NOT a retreat to bond and go back to “business as usual”. This is a process to do the work on self and team. There is no finish line. This is a team leaning into the trust required in a culture of accountabilty. #leadership #adaptability #trust #accountability #csuite #ceos #ceocoach
