Extremely proud that “Taste of South Australia” has become an annual highlight for hospitality professionals in the UAE (now in its 3rd edition)! This initiative by the Department of State Development aims to support industry stakeholders and importers, educating the UAE hospitality sector on South Australia’s boutique wine regions. It also gives them a chance to taste our iconic, award-winning wines, both those already in the market and those seeking distribution. Gratitude to all our guests for joining us on a Monday evening in big numbers! Special thanks to Bryony Hilless (EMPA. GDip. BA.) for gracing the occasion and sharing her valuable insights and also to Sharooq Khajotia , Mounir Sankary & Elizabeth Wood for always collaborating! - In addition to “Taste of South Australia”; a huge thank you to all industry stakeholders and importers across the UAE for welcoming the new-to-market winery delegation from South Australia and sharing insights and potential opportunities. - #SouthAustralia #Australia #Wines #TradePromotion
This Monday, Dubai experienced a Taste of South Australia. 🍷🙌 The day kicked off with five new-to-market wines - from Château Tanunda, Eight at the Gate Wines, Kilikanoon Wines Clare Valley, Murray Street Vineyards and Raidis Estate - and their representatives taking centre stage at the 'Diverse and Distinct South Australia' masterclass, led by Bharat Singh Rathore. Guests also had the opportunity to taste some of the existing South Australian wines in leading importer and distributor MMI - Maritime and Mercantile International’s portfolio, including those from Bremerton, d'Arenberg, Shaw + Smith, Thistledown Wines, Torbreck Vintners and Two Hands Wines. The evening saw top UAE hospitality professionals continue tastings and engaging in networking opportunities, with the event facilitating in-person connections with the wine representatives in attendance. Further enhancing the premium South Australian gastronomic experience, guests savoured a mouthwatering selection of South Australia's finest meat, courtesy of Thomas Foods International. What a perfect showcase of South Australia’s finest in the UAE. 🤩 Learn how our in-market experts can connect your business with opportunities in the Middle East & North Africa region: https://bit.ly/3WSP5un Sidharth (Sid) Mehta | Taliessin Reaburn | Tim White | Bodhi Edwards | Marianne Duluk | Sonya Madramootoo | Marcus Kuller | Anthony (Ant) Grundel | Hugh Waterman | Eleanor Champion | Alena Pavlova | Karan Dhingra | Mark Bough | Bharat Singh Rathore | Stephanie Rathore | Geoff Barker | Steven Raidis | Dagmar Roesner | Jane Richards | Ben Perkins | Tim Blair | MMI - Maritime and Mercantile International | Barrels & Beyond | Thomas Foods International

An extremely well organised event by Sid Mehta; To present for the first time in the UAE and meet the key players gave us an outstanding opportunity to share our story and beautiful wines in front of the right audience. Did you know that 3.2M litres of Australian wine was exported to the UAE in the past year? And where is the majority of this wine coming from? Well, South Australia of course. Over 35 per cent of the wine exported from Australia to the UAE comes from South Australia – one of our oldest and most historically significant wine regions. From the beautiful Barossa which wows wine lovers with its legendary shiraz, to the resiling capital of the Clare Valley, the premium grenache from the McLaren Vale through to Riverland the largest grape growing region in South Australia, to Langhorne Creek which is home to the oldest recorded cabernet sauvignon vines in the world, to our red centre the Coonawarra and our smaller gems on the Limestone Coast or Eyre Peninsula – South Australia has it all. A great event led by Sidharth (Sid) Mehta to introduce five new to market South Australia wines to the region. We were happy to be able to support.
