Meet our alumni of the week, Andrew Staton! Andrew graduated from the University of North Texas in 2022 with a BS/MS in Accounting and specializes in tax for Whitley Penn! Andrew was a valued member of Beta Alpha Psi for one year, while attending UNT. As a professional Andrew has been significantly impactful; of his most prideful moments Andrew indicates: “I'm 3/4 of the way done with the CPA Exam, last section is in progress. Being a newer associate, I would say that what makes it worth it, at the end of the day, is just learning everything that you can and being able to apply new knowledge to future projects.” “Getting good in the profession is a function of time and being exposed to different things. The main things that you need to bring to the office when you intern, or start working full-time, are a good attitude and work ethic” Andrew shares, his professional advice that he learned through his career. Essential advice to offer members recruiting: “Always have a great attitude and thank whoever you're talking with for their time. Too, be able to have a conversation with whoever you are talking with from a firm.
