Human lives are like precious gems, each unique and invaluable. When we ensure these gems are nurtured and utilized meaningfully, we contribute to making the world a better place. However, with over 70,000 lives lost to suicide globally each year, it becomes crucial to focus on prevention and awareness. On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day, observed annually on September 10th, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Nagpur extends heartfelt greetings to all. This day serves as a vital reminder to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and unite organizations, governments, and the public with one clear message: suicides are preventable. The theme for this year, "Changing the Narrative on Suicide," seeks to spark a global conversation on the importance of open dialogue around mental health and suicide prevention. By challenging misconceptions and reducing stigma, we can create an environment where people feel safe to express their struggles without fear of judgment. This theme also highlights the urgent need to prioritize mental health in public policies, urging governments to take decisive action in this area. At SIBM Nagpur, we encourage everyone to remain resilient in the face of challenges, to never give in to despair, and most importantly, to foster a culture where initiating conversations about mental health becomes the norm. Together, we can build a stronger support system and work towards a future where no one feels alone. Let’s work together to change the narrative and make a difference. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #MentalHealthMatters #ChangingTheNarrative #SIBM #SuicidePrevention #SupportMentalHealth

In present era, a majority of people in our community has become mentally weak. Youth get upset over little things and take drastic measures, like suicide. A class 10 student from Jharkhand kills self after teacher slaps. A 22-year-old man allegedly committed suicide after quarrelling with his wife. A 10-year-old girl in Agra committed suicide after fighting with her brother. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), 1.71 lakh persons took their own lives in 2022. The suicide rate in India has risen to 12.4 per 1,000 people, the highest number ever noted. There is only one reason why there are so many suicides, rapidly growing no. of divorces, rising relationship problems in Indian society, conflict between husband and wife, disputes between parents and children, and broken homes: a lack of endurance. Mental robustness is lost. In terms of psychology, I would say that we are seriously deficient in "psychological resilience." To be resilient means to be strong enough in coping with life stressors. It is like psychological immunity that fights with negativity and disinfect our mental body. We all face trauma, adversity, and other stresses. Everyone experiences twists and turns, from everyday challenges to traumatic events with more lasting impact. Just take a pause in this hectic life. Think for a while and change your priorities. Be brave, Prioritize relationships, Connect with your own roots, Practice mindfulness, and BE RESILIENT. Because the Law of Nature states that the one who wins will survive in this changing environment. #psychology #mentalhealth #resilience

The recent horrific incident in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, where a young doctor was brutally raped and murdered within the confines of her workplace, has shaken us all to the core. Leaving us with the question: 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯? For some, these events have reopened old wounds, making it difficult to feel secure, even in familiar places. 𝐒𝐨 𝐈 𝐀𝐬𝐤: What is safety for you? Is it just the absence of harm, or is it the presence of trust, understanding, and care? How can we ensure that we are genuinely experiencing safety, not just on the surface, but deep within? The need for trauma-informed spaces has never been more urgent. These spaces aren’t limited to therapy rooms—they should be everywhere we go. It’s about creating environments where we feel emotionally and psychologically safe, where our well-being is prioritized, and where we can truly be ourselves. **𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘦: 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘳 𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘮-𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨.** . . .
