Artificial Intelligence is set to revolutionize medical education, transforming how we teach and learn, what is taught, to whom it is taught, and the cost of education itself. AI-driven adaptive learning platforms will personalize education, allowing students to progress at their own pace while virtual and augmented reality create immersive, hands-on training experiences. The curriculum will shift from rote memorization to critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and the effective use of AI in clinical practice. By democratizing access, AI will make education available to underserved regions and non-traditional learners, fostering interprofessional collaboration. Moreover, by automating tasks and reducing reliance on physical infrastructure, AI will drive down costs, making medical education more affordable and scalable than ever before. This shift will redefine the future of medical education, creating a smarter, more inclusive, and more efficient learning ecosystem. #AIInEducation #FutureOfLearning #MedicalEducationRevolution #AIInHealthcare #DigitalTransformation #VirtualLearning #ImmersiveEducation #AIForGood #GlobalEducationAccess #InnovationInMedicine

Embracing the Future of Medical Education and AI Integration In an era where the medical syllabus and high-quality teaching are available online for no more than £1000/year, we find ourselves at a crossroads. This remarkable accessibility raises a fundamental question: Why do we still cling to the traditional university model? #HigherEd #OnlineLearning The conventional role of universities has been to guide us through essay writing and critical thinking. However, with the advent of AI, this paradigm is shifting. AI can not only write essays but also refine them into novel, sophisticated forms with a simple subscription service. #EdTech #AIinEducation As educators begin to leverage AI for grading, we’ll witness a new efficiency in academic assessments. The consistency and speed of AI grading could redefine our approach to education. #InnovationInTeaching #AcademicAssessment The remaining piece of the puzzle is laboratory work. What if we could integrate lab experiences into the duties of clinical staff at hospitals? It would not only enhance their skill set but also provide a welcome variety in their routine. #HealthcareEducation #ClinicalTraining Let’s not shy away from change; instead, let’s embrace it. The educational landscape is evolving, and we must evolve with it. The integration of AI in education is not just a possibility—it’s the reality knocking on our doors. #FutureOfLearning #EducationReform

The current reality of AI in Healthcare & Education: Seems like AI is being oversold as an instant administrative cure-all for teachers and healthcare workers. For instance, current narrative claims AI can grade papers and summarize clinical notes. But the reality is that, in the short term, it will create more work, not less. Physicians will need to spend hours verifying AI-generated notes. Teachers cross-check every AI-graded assignment. This isn't an insurmountable tech failure, it's the messy process of development. So instead of it being framed as, "here is your new time saving tool! You're welcome!" We need real incentives for professionals to engage: -Compensation for developmental testing -Protected time for tool refinement -Professional development credits -Meaningful input in product design Healthcare and education pros aren't just users, they're critical partners in building functional tools.

Imagine secondary school students learning how AI can enhance healthcare delivery. Imagine secondary school students learning how to use Business Model Canvas. Imagine secondary school students interviewing medical doctors and pharmacists in order to build a tech based solution for healthcare powered by AI. These and many more are not hat we learned during the session with the secondary school students. Students need to see science principles at work and understand how to use it to solve real world problems. We must not place a restriction on students. Life used to start at 30 but now it starts at 14. When secondary school education is robust, then University education and life itself will be better of. We have to rebuilt science education in Nigeria yo make it pragmatic.

Two Texas universities are the first to offer a dual MD/MS in artificial intelligence dual degree – an acknowledgement of AI’s growing importance in healthcare. The degree is offered by UT Health San Antonio and University College at the University of Texas at San Antonio. The program, which launched in 2022, is in recognition of the rising use of AI in healthcare, educators said. Currently, clinicians have limited input on the design of AI healthcare tools. But the more they understand AI the greater the say they will have in the development of tools and how they’re used, administrators said. In March & April we have seen unprecedented levels of experimentation & implementation of AI in education. Here's the low down: 🦾 Los Angeles Unified School District deployed "Ed," an AI teaching assistant, to provide 24/7 academic support & reduce student inequities which were exacerbated during the Covid outbreak. 🧑🏽⚕️ ATI Nursing Education introduced Claire AI to assist nursing educators to quickly generate assessments, reduce administrative burdens & increase time dedicated to direct student interaction. 🧑🏫 The Markup's global survey of teachers showed that teachers around the world are using AI daily to customise lesson plans, streamline grading & get more creative in their teaching approaches. 💼 Donald H Taylor & Egle Vinauskaite released an AI & L&D report which shows growing experimentation with AI in the workplace, particularly in relation to tasks which help to increase operational efficiency. 💡 Marc Zao-Sanders of Filtered reported in the Harvard Business Review that education is one of the most dynamic areas for AI experimentation, with both educators & learners regularly using AI to make learning more customised, accessible & engaging. To learn more about what's happening on the ground & what we will learn from these experiments, check out the related post in my Learning Futures newsletter (link in comments). Happy innovating!
