Are you creating sales collateral that actually helps buyers make confident decisions? Or are you sharing ‘all-about-you’ fluff? Sales and marketing teams often operate in silos. As a result, sales teams eye-roll at "marketing speak" collateral, and buyers are left confused. Let's break down the barriers and create sales collateral that works! I’ve experienced this firsthand twice recently: 1. Switching to Hubspot: I’ve recommended Hubspot to clients for years, so when it came time to upgrade my CRM, I knew where to look. Hubspot’s sales collateral was spot on: easy to navigate, transparent, and answered all my questions. 2. Exploring Ubico at Collision: Shout out to Scott Erb! Ubico’s simple yet effective sales deck resonated with me. It wasn’t fancy but perfectly supported his key message: a concierge platform and service package that saves businesses like mine time. These experiences reaffirmed my belief: great sales collateral makes the buying process seamless. Here’s my actionable advice, inspired by my video series with Brendan Ziolo at Zinc Marketing (watch the full video for more): 1. 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐮𝐲: 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐁𝐮𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 - Relevance: Tailor materials to the buyer's specific needs. - Practicality: Ensure content is applicable to real-world sales scenarios. 2. 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞: 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫, 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞, 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐮𝐟𝐟 - Simplicity: Simplify options and details. - Clarity: Produce clear, digestible content. 3. 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞: 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐬 - Confidence: De-risk the buying decision by addressing major concerns. - Support: Help buyers feel confident in their decision-making process.
