𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐩 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Almost all corporate hospitals are keen to set up a cancer department. But do all corporate hospitals have the infrastructure to provide comprehensive cancer care? A center needs to have the maximum facilities to be designated as a comprehensive cancer set-up. In surgical oncology, both open and minimally invasive surgical options must be available, including robotic surgery. In medical oncology, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy, along with bone marrow transplant facilities, should be present. In radiotherapy, high-end linear accelerators, along with internal radiation or brachytherapy, must be available. Option for a second opinion and palliative care facilities are required. #corporate #hospitals #cancer #department #infrastructure #medical #oncology #chemotherapy #therapy #bonemarrow #transplant #radiotherapy #facilities

Hello LinkedIn community Brain cancer is a serious condition characterized by the uncontrolled growth of cells within the brain. It can originate in the brain (primary brain cancer) or spread from other parts of the body (secondary, or metastatic, brain cancer). Primary brain tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous), with gliomas and meningiomas being among the most common types. Symptoms of brain cancer vary depending on the tumor's size, location, and rate of growth and may include headaches, seizures, cognitive or personality changes, and motor skill impairments. Diagnosis typically involves imaging studies such as MRI or CT scans, and treatment options include surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. Advances in medical research are continuously improving the understanding and management of brain cancer, offering hope for better outcomes for patients. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinker #designthinking

#IDEA4RC aims to develop a federated #Data ecosystem for #RareCancers focusing on two groups of these cancers: soft tissue sarcoma and head and neck cancers. We have identified some research questions the data ecosystem would try to answer through interviews with sarcoma and head and neck cancer expert oncologists and a survey conducted among the IDEA4RC clinical partners. Among these questions the consortium will chose at least four pilot projects that will allow to test the platform. The research questions belong to four areas: ▶ description of the natural history of soft tissues sarcomas and head and neck cancers (how the rare cancer develops, progresses, possible association with other diseases, etc.). ▶ evaluation of prognostic factors and response to treatments. ▶ assessment of treatment effectiveness (systemic, radiotherapy, surgery, target therapy, immunotherapy, and possible combinations). ▶ quality of care (diagnostic and staging procedures, treatment strategies, follow-up, etc.). To discover more about the research questions we have selected, read the summary of the deliverable on our website 👉 https://lnkd.in/dssWWegH #EHDS #EuropeanHealthDataSpace

💡 NEW FINDINGS: CCR researchers uncovered a key transcription factor that may influence proteins in small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Small cell lung cancer is a type of fast-growing cancer that forms in the tissues of the lung, and smoking is the major risk factor for the development of this disease. National Cancer Institute (NCI), The National Institutes of Health These new findings highlight the importance of DNA analysis in understanding and treating the disease. Dr. David S. Schrump, chief of our Thoracic Surgery Branch, largely led this research, which was published on April 5, 2024, in the Journal of Thoracic Oncology. #CancerResearch #LungCancer #Health #Innovation #NewResearch

Millennium is an integrated healthcare system that offers all cancer treatment methods, and radiotherapy is one of the most prominent. Intense energy beams are used to destroy cancer cells using X-rays or proton radiation. As approximately 50% of patients receive radiotherapy during some stage of cancer treatment, radiotherapy may be used as a treatment alone or in conjunction with other treatments, such as chemotherapy or surgery. External radiation therapy is highly safe as the beams are directed directly at the cancer site while protecting healthy tissue until the genetic material that controls cell growth and division is destroyed. According to the latest reports, radiotherapy has achieved success rates ranging from 80% to 90% with some types of cancer, and treatment effects appear over time, not immediately. Some side effects of radiation therapy may appear, but they can be controlled with the doctor’s instructions We welcome all your inquiries by contacting us at: +201016372207 Or via WhatsApp: https://wa.link/wfgmz2 We welcome your visit to our branch addresses: ->Mohandiseen: 54, first floor, Abdel Moneim Riad Street https://bit.ly/48WCsni -> Sheikh Zayed: Al Nada Clinics Building, Sodic West #millennium_health_care #radiotherapy #oncology #cancer #cancersupport #earlydetectionsaveslives #MyHealth #endcancer #cancersurvivor #cancercommunity #clinics #CancerAwareness

Why is cancer staging important? 🤔 The overall stage of cancer gives information on the location, extent, and severity of the disease. Cancer staging helps oncologists determine the best treatment option, such as surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or hormone therapy. Different stages of cancer influence survival statistics and help determine prognosis. Cancer staging is also useful in informing how likely a treatment is to be successful and sets expectations for the road ahead. With many advanced cancers, the treatment aim is disease control, whereas with most early-stage cancers, the treatment aim is curative. By comparing similar cases in patients with the same stage of disease, it allows doctors to predict possible challenges and help the patient prepare. Click below to learn more about the different stages of cancer and staging systems, how cancer stages are determined, and their role in determining treatment plans.
