🌟 Main takeaways from the 2024 Public Relations Global Network #PRGN Conference in Hong Kong! 🌟 How can I share all the great highlights from this conference held last week in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. Thanks to Joanne Chan and her team we discovered the fascinating sides of HK and better understand the complexity of this region. Thanks to the contribution of all, we discussed about business strategies, innovations drivers, key trends among agencies from all over the world. We adressed the challenges and opportunities in the PR & PA industry, with the eyes of experts. Michael Diegelmann from cometis (Germany) presented an insightful session on tackling corporate greenwashing and the crucial role of transparent communications in building genuine sustainability efforts. We had a lively discussion on the EU #AI act exploring its implications for PR agencies and the future of AI in our industry. We openly challenge the ties among the EU & Asian countries, calling for more mutual understanding over boundaries. Navigating APAC’s Media Landscape, we explored the diverse and dynamic media and social media environment in the APAC region, highlighting strategies for effective engagement and communication. We discussed about crisis and issue management with a deep dive into contemporary crisis management techniques, emphasizing agility and adaptability in our rapidly changing world. Thanks to the work achieved by our past president Andy See, with our strategic plan for the future, PRGN is the proud 5th largest network of independent communication agencies covering 44 countries. This amazing work could not have been achieved without the support of our executive director Gabor Jelinek. I will pursue this strategic dynamic move as the new president. The conference has been a fantastic platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and setting the stage for the future of PR and PA. I am energized and ready to implement these insights ! #PRGN2024 #PublicRelations #PublicAffairs

Public relations plays a crucial role in creating lasting connections between brands and their audiences. It’s not about pushing a product or service; it’s about creating meaningful, ongoing conversations. Through consistent, thoughtful communication, PR helps brands build trust over time. It’s this trust that translates into loyalty, where customers feel valued, understood, and supported. The goal isn't a quick win or immediate return, but fostering relationships that grow and strengthen over the years. A strong PR strategy ensures your brand remains relevant and responsive to the evolving needs of your audience. What steps are you taking to foster long-term loyalty? P.S. To all our clients, partners, and friends in South Africa—Happy Heritage Day! May we continue celebrating the rich history, culture, and diversity that makes our continent so vibrant. #Media #ContentCreation #SocialMedia #TechStartup #Healthcare #CorporateInfluence

PRovoke Media has gathered insights and opinions from PR leaders on China’s current economy slowdown and its impact on PR. Our colleagues from SEC Newgate Greater China contributed to this discussion: James Hill, Managing Partner at SEC Newgate Greater China comments: “For multinationals doing business in China, it is essential they build strong relationships and establish two-way communications with Chinese government officials at all levels. Further, they need to analyse government work reports and addresses so that they can align their development plans with government blueprints, create robust communication mechanisms and channels, engage in initiatives that can contribute to economic and societal development, and leverage the influence of industry associations.” Victoria Guo 👩🏻💻, Partner, Head of Shanghai office, continues: “The primary challenge is meeting more sophisticated client requirements while managing tightening budgets. Businesses increasingly require strategic communicators that can integrate public relations, branding, policy analysis and issues management. Measurement is also crucial. We are seeing growing demand from companies for corporate communications to directly contribute to their marketing and sales efforts.” Click here to read the full article: https://lnkd.in/djJvu_ge

In today’s fast-paced and information-rich world, maintaining a positive #publicimage and building #trust are paramount for any brand - including the ones we don't conventionally think of as a "#brand". In an opening keynote at #PRAsia #Singapore 2024, Patrick Nathan, chief communications officer and chief risk officer at the State Courts of Singapore said that #publicinstitutions also face their fair share of challenges, especially when it comes to #disinformation. Disinformation leads to '#truthdecay' or the devaluation of #truth in our societies and this is a fundamental #threat to public institutions around the world today, said Nathan. These issues are often mitigated by fostering strong #relationships based on trust with members of the #public, and with internal and external #stakeholders too. #openingkeynote

Can companies buy their way into media coverage? Of course. There are sponsorship opportunities everywhere. However, nine times out of ten, the most impactful media coverage isn't for sale. It's leveraged with the right story and the right relationships. Always ask your potential PR partners who they know and who they have worked with in the past. Make them show you examples so you can understand their process and ability to execute. Just some food for thought.
