As the World Economic Forum ranks #misinformation and #disinformation as "the most severe global risk, further widening societal and political divides over the next two years," immediate action is needed to equip the overall population with timely instruments to counter their disruptive effects on society. Over the years, various human rights organisations have delved into the study of mis- and disinformation #techniques, recognising their main use by autocratic regimes to uphold power and silence the voices of activists. The Media Literacy for Democracy project has gathered the expertise of those organisations, and developed a set of #recommendations for policymakers, #media workers, and civil society actors to effectively use media literacy to recognize and counter mis- and disinformation disruptions. Join FIDU and its partners tomorrow to learn about these recommendations and discuss with #European and #Ukrainian experts how to best cooperate in mitigating this worldwide risk. Register here 👇
