Why are we getting so much cost and latency on cloud platforms ? Many companies are struggling with price to performance ratio. Hats off to Subhash Choudhary .. one of the best guys I have ever seen, he made us know how we are over spending and not getting up to the mark performance in many production grade applications. The best part of this which I liked is how he managed failover from on-prem to cloud platform is mind blowing. I know it's a long video Go Grab a cup of coffee and finish it in a single go, A lot to learn. #devops #Aws #Kubernetes #Cloud #Azure #100DaysOfDevOps https://lnkd.in/gur6Mfui

If you've used 𝐀𝐖𝐒 𝐀𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐚, you know that it's an asynchronous, serverless query execution service that requires an S3 bucket to store processed results. By default, these results are saved in the Standard storage class of S3, and they won't expire unless you set up a lifecycle configuration for the Athena results bucket. This article explores cost optimization strategies for using Athena with S3. https://lnkd.in/gkuZSwTV #aws #athena #s3 #hackwithharsha #awss3 #bucket #cloud #finops #cloudfinops

It's good to follow hands-on lab but it's equally important to refer latest official document when experimenting As part of Google Cloud Skills Boost explored cloud storage via UI , gsutil and gcloud cli on referring official doc came to know that gsutil is no more preferred way to automate! So official doc is always a key to stay uptodate , what ever source you learn from :) https://lnkd.in/d8zbhY8h #gcp #cloudstorage #evidhai

Are you using Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform and are you planning to reduce latencies and save some costs without touching your applications? The first thing I would check is if you're leveraging the benefits of container-native load balancing that helps to reduce extra network roundtrips. Have a look at this great 5 min demo (Quite old but still effective)

Cloud Architecture Drift -you know where you gradually add resources over time and suddenly your budget is blown and there's resources running that were never part of the plan. If you use Hava, you can identify drift & even get notifications when new resources or new service types are deployed - as it happens. 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝘃𝘀. 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹: What’s the Right Choice for You? Have you ever been shocked by cloud pricing for additional 𝗖𝗣𝗨 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗔𝗠, 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗢𝗣𝗦? 💸 It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the costs and wonder if there’s a more cost-effective solution. While the cloud offers numerous advantages, it’s crucial to weigh your options and understand when it might be more beneficial to look elsewhere. Enter 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀! 🚀 These services offer dedicated servers at a lower cost compared to cloud services. But does that mean everyone should make the switch to Bare Metal? Not necessarily. I recently stumbled upon an insightful video that sheds light on this very topic. It provides a comprehensive comparison and helps you understand that cloud isn’t the only player in town. Huge thanks to Arpit Bhayani and Subhash Choudhary .. for such valuable content! 🎧 Check out the video for some valuable insights and decide what suits your needs best! 📹👇 https://lnkd.in/gzpXWEP4 #CloudComputing #BareMetal #TechTalk #CostOptimization

On-premise vs. Cloud: I was recently stuck on a problem statement and stumbled upon this podcast by Arpit Bhayani, featuring Subhash Choudhary .. (CTO, Dukaan). Their transition to bare-metal infrastructure really fascinated me! It got me thinking—are we too dependent on cloud when on-premise/physical servers offer such performance and cost benefits? In my view, on-premise can be a great fit for large enterprises too. That said, the trade-off seems to be responsibility—on-premise requires more in-house expertise for maintenance, scaling, and security, whereas cloud providers handle most of this. 💭 What do you think? Does the cloud’s convenience outweigh the benefits of independence with on-premise? Podcast link: https://lnkd.in/d7Y8Jgqf (I'll recommend you to watch this)..
