Decoding SEO Pricing-From $ to $$$ Yes, SEO costs vary, but why do some charge hundreds while others bill tens of thousands? If you don't have the bandwidth, I'll sum it up here: You're either paying for someone to experiment and learn on your dime, or you're paying for a brilliant self-marketer more interested in YouTube and TikTok fame. The greatest thought leaders in SEO are introverted and have zero interest in public fame or public discourse. Search engine optimization is not always about hours put in on your website. You're not paying for labor; you're paying for knowledge. Knowing what works and what doesn’t is the result of years of scientific testing. Consider this: A giant ship's engine broke down and no one could repair it, so they hired a mechanical engineer with over 30 years of experience. He inspected the engine very carefully, from top to bottom. After seeing everything, the engineer unloaded his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He knocked something gently. Soon, the engine came to life again. The engine had been fixed! A week later, the engineer mentioned to the ship owner that the total cost of repairing the giant ship was $20,000. "What?!" said the owner. "You did almost nothing. Give us a detailed bill." The answer is simple: Tap with a hammer: $2 Know where to knock and how much to knock: $19,998 The importance of appreciating one's expertise and experience...because those are the results of struggles, experiments, and even tears. If I do a job in 30 minutes, it's because I spent 20 years learning how to do that in 30 minutes. You owe me for the years, not the minutes. This captures SEO pricing in a nutshell. SEO isn't a single process or a mixed bag of tactics or outcomes. Each website is different, no matter the niche. That's why agencies often fail to deliver ROI. What drives costs? SEO has evolved. While AI tools have made our processes more efficient, they've also made semantic SEO more nuanced. The recent algorithm leak confirmed thousands of ranking factors. New Google updates demonstrate that SEO is now a high-level skill based on scientific testing. When hiring an SEO provider, consider more than the price. If you cannot afford it, wait until you have a sustainable investment for at least a year. Most failures in search marketing are due to a lack of resources, not knowledge. Find a partner in your success. If you invest in them, they will invest in your business. A good SEO will tell you if your investment is best spent elsewhere. If your provider doesn't understand your business metrics and isn't a partner in your success, move on. #SEO #100percentorganicseo

Hello Valued Connections, Sharing a few enlightening reflections this fine day and thought I'd put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, on the art and science that is SEO. In today's dynamic digital marketplace, SEO is not seen as just an option, but rather a vital necessity. It’s the lifeblood of your online presence, nurturing and pushing your content towards those who need it. Let's not beat around the bush: 🎯 SEO is the master key that unlocks your online visibility. Now, I can sense a collective head tilt. Isn't that a bit much, Leslie? Do you think so? Let me put forward some statistics to bolster my claim: • 93% of online experiences start with a search engine. Yes, you read that right. • Google, our ubiquitous search engine giant, factors in over 200 components when determining a web page's value and relevance. Astonishing, isn't it? • 75% of internet users don't scroll past the first page of search results. Hmm, food for thought. Are we all up to speed? Cool. Let's delve deeper into this fascinating topic. SEO - it's a marathon, not a sprint: In the overeager race to rank higher, several divert from the track and opt for shortcuts. Righting the wrongs, we need to understand: • Persistent, consistent efforts over time yield results - the operative word being time. • SEO is a commitment to providing quality, relevance, and value to your audience. • It's not about ranking for the hot keyword of the day but about being discovered by the right people, at the right time, in the right context. Search engine algorithms are ever-evolving: The rules of the game are not written in stone. Google, Bing, Yahoo et al., periodically update their algorithms to ensure a more user-centric experience. • Staying on top of these changes? It’s critical. • Adapting to shifts in user behaviour and technology? Non-negotiable. • Building SEO resilience? It’s not an add-on, but an essential part of your digital strategy. Make no mistake, this doesn't negate the importance of crafting quality, relevant content. SEO is not the wizard behind the curtain controlling all. Rather, it's the framework that supports and amplifies your message. SEO is the silent champion, working behind the scenes - a bit like the stagehand in a theatre, without whom the spotlight never finds the star. There is so much more to unfold and I look forward to digging deeper in future posts. Hit me up with your thoughts! After all, the best learning is collaborative. #seo #digitalmarketing #google #searchengineoptimization #growthhacking

"Is SEO still worth the investment in 2025? Absolutely, and here’s why. SEO is not just alive—it's thriving, evolving alongside technology and user behavior. As digital landscapes shift, so do the strategies that businesses need to be visible online. SEO remains at the heart of digital success, but it requires adaptation. Here are some key reasons why SEO will still be worth it in 2025: 1. **Organic Search Still Dominates**: Organic search drives more than 50% of most website traffic. People continue to rely on search engines to discover products, services, and information. Ranking high organically means more visibility, credibility, and opportunities to connect with your audience without relying solely on paid ads. 2. **User Intent and Quality Content**: Google’s algorithm increasingly prioritizes user intent and content quality. In 2025, SEO means not just ranking high but also satisfying user needs with value-driven, relevant content. Businesses that consistently create content focused on their audience's problems and questions will continue to see growth. 3. **Voice Search and AI Integration**: Voice search is expected to increase further, and AI tools are transforming how users search and how we optimize for search engines. SEO in 2025 will be about optimizing for conversational, long-tail queries, understanding AI-driven search intent, and using structured data to ensure your site content can be effectively understood by search engines. 4. **Technical SEO Matters More**: Page speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile-first indexing—technical SEO aspects will become increasingly important as the internet gets faster and users expect instant, seamless experiences. Websites that aren’t technically optimized will face higher bounce rates and lower rankings, making technical SEO a critical investment. 5. **Local Search is Growing**: Local SEO will continue to play a major role as consumers increasingly seek out nearby businesses. With the growing reliance on mobile search, optimizing for local keywords and Google Business Profile is essential for businesses serving a specific geographic area. 6. **AI and Personalization**: The rise of AI tools like ChatGPT has transformed how users search and how they expect results. Search engines are getting better at delivering personalized content, meaning that websites must better understand their users, provide relevant solutions, and utilize AI-driven personalization to stay competitive. 7. **The Need for Trust and Credibility**: SEO contributes significantly to building trust and credibility online. Users trust organic listings more than ads, and ranking on the first page signals authority in your niche. Earning high-quality backlinks, demonstrating E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness), and being consistently present in search results help build a brand’s digital reputation. Let’s discuss the future of SEO and how to adapt to stay ahead of the game."

SEO for the CEO: Here's a simple framework on how to create search forecasts that even beginner SEOs will be able to utilize: This was a great read on Search Engine Land from Rob Tindula. This article walks you through a proposed model of creating SEO forecasts when presenting your projections to leadership. In his article, Rob advocates for using a model that utilizes your existing organic visibility data to project improvements to search traffic and measure forecasted ROI: 1. Identify existing query performance: To start the analysis, you need to take stock of the site's existing rankings. Using a rank tracking tool like Ahrefs, Semrush or Moz, you can get a baseline of where you rank. 2. Collected estimated CTRs for your queries: Rob advocates using a click-through curve table to gather estimated CTRs by position. I'd add that you could also use Search Console data to get more real-word data on actual CTR numbers. In your table, match your CTR numbers up with your queries. 3. Gather your monthly traffic data: Next you can use monthly search volume data to estimate how much traffic each query is driving by multiplying the MSV against the CTR. Once again, you could also get this by using Search Console CTR + clicks data. 4. Estimate improvements to CTR: Next you'll want to estimate the improvements to CTR that an SEO campaign will have. You can then calculate the net organic traffic numbers by comparing the forecasted improvements against the baseline data. A note, I'd consider looking at historical data or competitors to get an idea of realistic growth numbers. 5. Gather your conversion rate & average conversion value: You'll want to work with analytics or internal teams to understand the average conversion of a digital lead. Knowing this and the site's average CVR, will help you calculate your final number. 6. Calculate your net revenue impact: Finally, multiply your Net Organic Traffic x Conversion Rate x Average Conversion Value. Now you'll be able to gather a forecast for the Net Organic Revenue from improved SEO. While this process isn't perfect, really no forecasting method is. For beginner SEOs, this is a great process to get started with when asked to forecast the improvements you're able to make to a search campaign. SEOs have long been afraid to forecast the results of their efforts while other digital channels aren't. Articles like this help SEOs better get a seat at the table and help marketers better communicate their value to the key decision makers.
