♟️So you’re a team of one and want to get other people involved in your social strategy. Great! Encourage them to look for natural points of connection with the brand account. If they can’t post, encourage them to share the brand’s post. If they can’t share, ask them to comment. If they can’t comment, ask them to react. If they don’t spend much time on social, ask them to follow the account. Every little bit helps spread awareness and draw in a community around a brand. But not every social media action carries the same weight. We’ll unpack that next week!
📉 A social strategy that revolves around only one person doing the work of creating, posting, monitoring, and commenting is doomed to fail. Social media is collaborative by nature. Leaning into that collaboration will make your strategy much more effective! 🤝 So instead of running with each request to “post on social,” stop and look for ways to consciously empower those around you to engage. I’ll share more about these natural points of connection next week. Stay social, everyone! 📱 #socialstrategy #socialemediamarketing #socialmediamanager

How are you building engagement on social media? There are tons of pieces of advice out there, but some tips that really stand out to me are: ~ Add value. This isn't about what you want to share, but what others want or need to consume. How can you educate, inspire, or inform? ~ Respond. Too many people post and expect others to react, comment, and share. But what are you doing to respond to folks who are engaging with your content? Be real and have real conversations. ~ Choose the right platform. Again, this comes down to where the people you want to connect with are spending their time, not where you want to spend yours. You can't be everything to everyone, but if you take the time to know your people, you can build an engaged community. Good luck! https://buff.ly/3IOTfgx

How do you measure meaningful engagement? When social media started, it wasn't all about “likes” or growing a business. It was about connecting with your friends and family, sharing your weekend shenanigans and having fun. 🤪 As social media has expanded into the business world, it has lost its original purpose and people (and businesses) aren't ready to share the authentic moments that they are having. As a business, it is important to focus on active engagement that will further your exposure and name recognition. This means shares, saves, reposts and comments. If audiences find enough value in your content that they send it to others, that is a user that you can turn into a client. One way to create that valuable content for your audience is to get back to the root of social media. Have fun with your content! Be silly, show processes and invite your audience in to be a part of your community. 🫂

My Top 5 Social Media Tips to make your social work for YOU... 💪🏾 🫵🏾 Marketing is no longer about the stuff you make. It’s about the stories you tell. 💯👏🏾 ♥️ This rings even MORE true for social media marketing. Your social pages should primarily be focussed on 5 things: 1️⃣ Being a voice for your customer stories and a platform to highlight THEM, not you. ❤️ #community 2️⃣ Educational content that you already know your customer/social audience is interested through your research on WHAT questions THEY are coming to the internet and social to ask for. 📈 #sociallistening 3️⃣ Providing entertaining content that is following CURRENT social media trends that are fun and will make your social user smile, laugh or feel good. 🥰#emotionalconnection 4️⃣ Sharing other brand, small businesses, or related NGO content/products that can be helpful to your customers/social audience. Show your users that you support your own industry and community. 🤝 #advocacy 5️⃣ Showing your customers and social users yours or your company’s personality. Let them see the real human/s behind the brand. Show them that just like them you are also a person trying to navigate through it all. Be down to earth and don’t be afraid to be vulnerable. 😅 #relatable Repost 📷 from Mark P. Jung 🙏🏾

HOW TO TUESDAY - Choosing social channels With so many social media platforms out there - how do you choose which to invest time and resources in? You can’t be all things to all people. You can’t dedicate 100% of your time to making content for every single platform. You can’t effectively grow 7 social channels at the same time. So what do you do? First step, is to do research and analysis on where your customers consume their content. Where do they go to learn things? Where do they go to network and congregate? Second step, is where is the attention? Do they learn in one place, and interact in another? Third step, is look at the engagement. Where are the majority of conversations and interactions happening? Once you have selected a minimum of 2, abide by the 80/20 rule. 80% of your time in number one, 20% in number 2. The landscape of social is changing all the time, so if you spread yourself evenly across platforms you can easily pivot and change as things adapt EXTRA TIP: Augment your content for the platform. What works on LinkedIn may not work on YouTube. What works on YouTube may not work on Facebook etc #socialmedia #digitalmarketing
