EV charging pitstops... thoughts? This season Formula E is likely to confirm the introduction of Pit Boosts, an in-race pitstop to charge the race cars. Formula E cars don't actually need to charge in order to finish the race, but the new charging technology is set to provide 10% of extra energy in just 30secs (600kW charging). This will enable the cars to run in their (also new for this Season) 4 wheel drive mode for longer in the race. 4WD is expected to contribute to lap times reducing by 3secs per lap. Formula E starts this weekend in Sao Paulo, but the charging pitstops aren't expected until Jeddah in February, as they'll only feature in the 2nd race of double-header events. https://lnkd.in/ehHJrUY3

Lando Norris, McLaren Racing, speaking about his vision for Formula 1 in 10 years - and whilst he sees the need for a more sustainable grid, it is the transport to the grid more than the cars which matter to him, especially if Sustainable Fuels come along. He thinks we could be racing V10 or V12s - does that mean he sees Hydrogen ICE? What is clear is that we need Aviation to decarbonise to allow the F1 merry-go-round to constantly be traveling the world with logistics. ’Everything doesn't need to be electric, … and quietness…it needs a noise and an element of fear. The cars are the most efficient cars in the world already…F1 is much more advanced in terms of technology and advancements [in sustainability].’ https://lnkd.in/eG_UyZfm #Sustainability #SustainableFuel #FossilFuels

🏎 Lando Norris's victory at the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix is a significant achievement for him and McLaren. 🌍 Additionally, Formula 1's investment in sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF) through the “book and claim” model with DHL reflects the sport's commitment to sustainability and reaching net zero by 2030. This is an important step towards reducing the carbon footprint of motorsport. 💡 What is SAF "book and claim" and what are the available platforms now for performing B&C in the market? Are you ahead of the game? https://lnkd.in/gjDuH4mj https://lnkd.in/gRmaXWFz https://lnkd.in/grRkCwjj #F1 #Sustainability #Formula1 #NetZero #Neste #SustainableAviationFuel #McLaren #DHL

Hello... Lighting has a magical ability to transform spaces and influence our emotions. Here are a few reasons why I think lighting is so captivating: 1. Ambiance Creation: Lighting sets the mood and atmosphere of any space. Soft, warm lights can create a cozy and inviting environment, while bright, cool lights can make a space feel energetic and vibrant. 2. Highlighting Features: Good lighting can accentuate architectural details, art, and decor, making them stand out and enhancing the overall aesthetic of a space. 3. Functional and Practical: Beyond its aesthetic appeal, lighting is essential for visibility and safety. Whether you're cooking, reading, or working, the right lighting can make tasks easier and more comfortable. 4. Versatility and Customization: With advancements in smart lighting, it's possible to adjust the color, intensity, and even the direction of light to suit different activities and preferences. This customization adds a new dimension to how we interact with our environment. 5. Energy Efficiency: Modern lighting solutions, such as LED lights, are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, reducing energy consumption and lowering utility bills. 6. Health and Well-being: Proper lighting can positively impact our mental and physical health. Exposure to natural light during the day and dimming lights in the evening can help regulate our circadian rhythms and improve sleep quality. There's something truly enchanting about the way lighting can enhance our daily lives and surroundings. What do you think about that?
Lighting plays a crucial role in shaping our experiences, and with Hue you have the power to transform any space at home. Which scene would you choose to match race-day energy? Motorsport Connectivity - The Quest for Smaller, Faster & Better By Nick Wheeler - Sales Director, Lane Motorsport The never-ceasing search for the ‘winning edge’ in motorsport engineering inevitably results in constantly changing technologies with increasingly acute demands on component performance and reliability. Modern high-end motorsport platforms, whether in relation to motorcars, motorbikes or even motorboats, are complex entities where each constituent component interacts and relies on others to provide a complete system - a system where the combined result is far greater than the sum of the individu Within this fast-paced environment of change it is important to retain as much proven, dependable performance inside the system as possible. The #Ferrari SF-24 that will be in Imola has a new aerodynamic look, including a new rear wing. The specification is the same as used in all six races held, but the ends of the second flap are now "cut" without the final curvature. A solution that takes up an idea already seen on other cars in 2023, including the current RB20. We can also notice the new opening of the engine cover, there will no longer be grilles but a single large opening to send hot air under the rear wing #f1 #f1Tech
