Hiding fees may increase short-term profits, but it’s a long-term brand killer. Storytime... A few years ago, a company approached us with a problem: Low conversions. It didn’t take long to spot the issue. A quick walkthrough of their website revealed they were making profits by hiding high shipping fees until the final step of checkout. It worked for a while, but they ultimately killed any chance of repeat business. Word eventually got around, and their reputation took a hit. Here’s the kicker: their products were great. But they never figured out how to manage shipping and create a seamless customer experience. The result? Their brand, and reputation, suffered immensely. Sadly, the company didn’t make it. PSA: Folks, be upfront with your prices! If your customers feel deceived, no discount or product quality will save your brand in the long run.
