Wow, so much to pick apart in this news. First, having used #Workplace, I always felt like Meta had something special in it's approach to employee experience and team enablement. Second, I am glad to see that the business will continue with Workvivo - by Zoom, because #employeeexperience is the hidden competitive advantage that most companies are under-investing in. Third, I think the tie-up is brilliant for Zoom and if executed well creates a formidable offering to push this space forward. Forth, although this was likely a tough decision for Meta, it also shows core product focus AND how tough it is to commercialize new things, especially outside of a company's core focus. Many large tech companies have been plagued by this and Meta is making a smart move. Thanks for sharing Matthew Saxon and looking forward to seeing what Workvivo does with this.

Lots of respect for how Meta has trailblazed the Employee Experience Platform (EXP) industry. Four years ago, we strategically reviewed every aspect of our business to ensure it was ready for future growth. A key area of focus was our communication to ensure transparency in the business and great communication between ALL employees. Great employee communication enables our fantastic team to stay connected to their workplace, understand the organisation's purpose and strategy, identify with the values, and develop a sense of belonging by understanding how they contribute to the wider purpose. We decided to introduce a Real Time digital communications platform and remove all Communication notice boards which, like many businesses, always seemed to be out of date and therefore not looked at whilst requiring a lot of maintenance - with over 10 notice boards through the business. The main goal was to transform our internal communications and, in turn, drive transparency, a great company culture, and better real-time information. We also wanted to: 🔵 Ensure our ethos and strong business values were maintained through our comms strategy. 🔵 Build two-way communication channels between employees and leadership teams 🔵 Give individual workers a platform to tell their stories and show and tell the wider company about their achievements. The team investigated a number of communication platforms. Ultimately we chose a relatively unknown company based in Ireland; Workvivo - by Zoom. The Workvivo model seemed tailor made for us, with the platform having great focus on company values. Plus the team at Workvivo provided superb customer service and always treated us as an individual during onboarding and post launch - and still do! Roll on four years since the Nordell launch and the decision to partner with Workvivo has proven to be a very good one. Workvivo are now part of Zoom and recently Meta have confirmed that it will be discontinuing Workplace, its own colleague engagement system. Meta plans to partner with Workvivo by Zoom! Workvivo is now one of the largest employee communications platform globally and has added some major customers to its customer base including the likes of Bupa, Amazon, Mercedes, and Ryanair. Despite Workvivo’s significant growth over the past few years, we are still treated as an individual!
