“Generative AI reduces the cost of producing false news even further,” per Kevin Aslett, speaking today on NPR’s Here and Now. “Instead of factchecking individual claims, we should factcheck the sources we’re using.” ETA link to the segment in the comments. So, is your brand a source? If so, how are you holding up to factchecking and skepticism? Many brands embrace a broad content strategy that comprises content marketing, social content sourced from user-generated content or commissioned to influencers, and simple reviews. They operate with the goal of getting more content to inform consumers’ decisions. Third-party reviews are especially valuable earned media for influencing purchase decisions. But say it with me: 👏 more content means more exposure. 👏 more content means more vulnerability. 👏 more content means more oversight. I don’t mean “exposure” in the good way; I mean it in the potential threat way. Ditto for vulnerability. Content from outside sources can compromise a brand and undermine trust if it’s produced without close attention to messaging and execution. But it’s not a reason to avoid a broad content strategy that incorporates content from a variety of sources. Quite the opposite: the rise of generative AI and increased social content in marketing underscores the need for clear message architecture, accessible governance guidelines, and transparency in details that build trust. (The pillars of voice, volume, and vulnerability that I describe in Trustworthy!) If your org is gearing up to incorporate more content, especially from outside influencers, flag this post. Smart marketing should mean they invest in content strategy for guidance and building trust as well. Finally, you can be on every content channel all the time. Thanks to AI, we feed the algorithm an article or video transcript, click a few buttons, and ✅, content repurposing done. Well, not really. Even before AI, many marketers jumped into content creation before getting to know their audiences. Now, our robotic frenemies have made this problem worse. Copycat content gets repurposed instantly with "The Button" — Ethan Mollick's name for AI's instant drafting capabilities. And so teams produce and spread even more content across too many channels that doesn’t resonate with anyone. To be successful on a new (or existing) channel, you should first know your audience inside out before even thinking of heading elsewhere. That means being able to answer these questions about them: Where do they spend time online? What are their pain points? Why did they purchase your product? Why did they stop using your product? What industry publications do they like to read? Which industry influencers do they follow? What kind of content formats do they prefer? When you have this knowledge about your audience, you've passed the first of five signals that indicate you're ready to invest in a new content distribution channel. Which of these audience questions do you find most challenging to answer? (Check out the other four in our latest article by Ajdin Perco 🇺🇦. The AI No One Talks About (But Should) We hear about AI everywhere, yet most people overlook one of the most impactful AIs today: the META AI embedded in Facebook and Instagram’s algorithms. This AI drives the content in your feed, seamlessly delivering posts, ads, and stories that align almost perfectly with your interests, with minimal error. Even more impressive is the META AI behind their ads. Imagine the billions of dollars spent on ads over the years and the vast amount of data it’s processed. This powerful AI has refined itself continuously, becoming exceptionally skilled at targeting audiences. That’s why advertising on META has transformed significantly—and why you should stop overcomplicating your ad setup. Your content—both the copy and the visuals—tells META AI who your target is. Overloading your targeting with numerous “interests” or restrictions can actually hinder the algorithm's ability to find the right audience. To get the best results, focus on these two things: create strong content and track your customer behavior. Here’s where to direct your energy: - Concentrate on the marketing, not the technical setup. Speak the language your customers understand, find the right angle to highlight your product or service, and identify the benefits that matter to your audience. Integrate all of this into your message, then let the AI work its magic. With the META algorithm, the simpler your approach, the stronger your results. Focus on delivering value, and trust the AI to connect you with the ideal audience.

The AIs are coming! Jokes aside, the rush of AI content and AI content creation tools coming to social media and the marketing landscape is intense. It raises questions about how we will make our businesses and personal brands stand out in a sea of AI content that may saturate the social media landscape. Thanks to AI, everyone can now create and publish hours of video content via AI influencers without the use of cameras, generate text and images in seconds, and even automate direct messages with AI chatbots like what Meta is launching on Instagram. What can we do to maintain the brands we do have, let alone grow them, in such a fast moving landscape? My thinking: 1️⃣ If you haven’t already, accept AI tools and see how you can use them. Because the rest of the market will. Yes, questions remain—source content copyright issues, content accuracy and quality issues, etc. However, with how good these tools have gotten in such a short window, my take is those things will be solved and I am operating with the assumption AI tools will get even better and are here to stay. 2️⃣ Be authentic and human-led in your marketing wherever possible. Even if you are using AI content to scale your brand, finding ways to connect with people, personalize things, and do the things that don’t scale (e.g. jump on calls with peers, send swag to leads, etc.) is what will stand out in a landscape that is about to have a lot more content and noise. 3️⃣ Own your audience by starting a newsletter. Email is alive and well. It also happens to be the most predictable marketing channel we have. Should a social media platform get banned, become saturated, or face other unforeseen challenges in a market being disrupted by fast change, being able to fall back on a list of engaged subscribers is an invaluable asset and one of your best tools for converting. #ai #artificialintelligence #generativeai #virtualinfluencers #marketing

It should be a pain for Google ! Everyone knows that the web is flooding up with AI contents. I came across a reddit post where someone mentioned that he published 200 articles on a new website within a month's span of time. Seriously? Ever since Google updated its content guidelines from “helpful content update”, there's been a growing debate between influencers who support AI content and those against it. How can Google label AI content as spam when they have their own AI, Bard/Gemini? Shouldn't the focus be on whether the content is helpful to users, regardless of who created it? Sounds fair right? Wait. Would you buy and read a big book of fiction which was completely written by an AI? Most of us won’t do that other than who eagerly wants to know how AI is migrating. Why won't we buy such creations? Because it's missing something. ✍️ Lack of Emotions ✍️ Low/No Authoritative Even combining the AI and humans for content creation would not make a 100% percent helpful content. We all believe improvements will come with time. We'll see, but currently, if Google continues to promote extensive content automation, they risk losing their edge. #GoogleAI #ContentAutomation #SEOStrategy #DigitalMarketing #AIContent #SearchEngineOptimization #WebContent #GoogleUpdates #FutureOfSEO

🔍 Leveraging AI to Revolutionize Content Strategy! 🚀 As we navigate the vast ocean of online content, AI-generated maps are proving to be essential navigational tools for marketers aiming to refine their content curation and audience engagement strategies. Having explored the realm of AI-generated maps of content sources and relevance, I’m fascinated by how these tools use machine learning and natural language processing to visualize relationships between topics, themes, and sources. This isn't just about automating processes; it's about gaining actionable insights that drive strategic decisions. Here’s why I believe every content marketer should consider integrating AI into their toolkit: 1. **Identify Key Influencers**: Discover and collaborate with thought leaders who resonate with your audience. 2. **Enhance Content Relevance**: Use AI to tailor your content precisely to your target demographic, increasing engagement and loyalty. 3. **Streamline Curation**: Save precious time by automating the search and evaluation of content, allowing you to focus on creativity and execution. 4. **Optimize for SEO**: Better understand and harness the dynamics of content relevance to boost your search engine visibility. In practice, I’ve utilized AI to uncover emerging trends and adjust content themes, significantly enhancing audience interaction on campaigns. The results? More targeted content that speaks directly to interests and needs, driving both engagement and conversions. 🤔 How are you integrating AI into your content strategy? Have you seen improvements in how your content performs and resonates with your audience? Meet my AI avatar… is this the future of social media content creation? Imagine just getting your AI twin to handle it all for you?! It’s an amazing time saver, but can it really connect with people on the same level? If it was a little more realistic, I can see the potential for personalising messages for massive followings. But I’m not entirely convinced… What thinketh ye? 🤔 #AI #AIAvatar #FutureTech #SocialMedia #AIInfluencers
