Each year, JRebel by Perforce surveys the Java community to take a pulse on the challenges you're facing--and the tools and technologies you're using to solve them. This year's report calls out some cool trends, including the growing use of dedicated productivity teams, diverse cloud implementations and consistency among Java tools. Productivity teams and workgroups are something I've noticed grow steadily the past couple years as I've worked with customers and data from the 2024 Java Developer Productivity Report supports this. 💻 Exciting takeaways from AWS Innovate 2024 - It's time to modernise your Java Today’s session on modernizing Java has been truly insightful! As a developer, I am constantly on the lookout for ways to optimize code performance and reduce operational costs-and AWS continues to pave the way with incredible solutions. Key highlights: 🚀 Java modernization boosts efficiency with up to 50% performance improvements by moving from JDK 8 to 17. 🔧 Amazon Corretto provides a secure, long-term solution for Java deployments across platforms. 📊 Case studies show remarkable improvements: 39% reduction in IT spend, 35% faster insights, and reduced latency across monitoring services. The modernization of legacy systems to serverless and containerized environments ensures that organizations remain agile and competitive in today’s fast-paced landscape. Looking forward to utilizing these best practices to drive innovation and efficiency in future projects! 🔥 #AWSInnovate #JavaModernization #CloudComputing #DeveloperLife #TechInnovation

Building Multi-Cloud Infrastructure Middleware: A Project Readiness Approach I'm exploring an interesting use case in multi-cloud infrastructure integration and would value the community's insights on our approach to team expansion *The Challenge* The customer is an IT services organization that is doing outsourced Engineering work for a US-based Infrastructure management company. One of the key functionalities of the existing middleware platform is to manage VM provisioning across AWS and Azure using Java SpringBoot with PostgreSQL. The customer is looking to expand capabilities to include GCP capabilities in the middleware. *The Candidate* A developer with about 2 years of experience is available to be deployed with the IT services customer, with these skills - Strong Java foundations (2 years) - Database expertise (MySQL) - Recent GCP certification - Limited middleware experience *Project Readiness Program (PReP) outline* We've designed a 2-week technical immersion focused on practical implementation before a discussion with the Engineering manager of the US based infrastructure management company for a go/no-go discussion. 1. *GCP SDK Development Phase* - Building a Java application with core resource management capabilities - Implementing VM lifecycle operations - Testing cloud resource handling patterns 2. *Data Integration Phase* -Extending the Java application with PostgreSQL integration for resource tracking - Implementation of state management - Real-time synchronization with GCP VMs *Key Questions for the Community* 1. What are your views of this 2-week program? What can be added? 2. How have you handled the learning curve when integrating new cloud platforms into existing middleware solutions? 3. What timeline adjustments might be necessary based on your experience with similar team expansions? *Critical Considerations* The developer should be productive within the first week *Insights Needed* As a Delivery Manager/Project Manager or as an Engineering manager what kind of onboarding program did you design when you had a similar use case? #CloudArchitecture #MultiCloud #InfrastructureAsCode #TechTransformation #CloudIntegration #MiddlewareEngineering #PReP Nuvepro Technologies

Position: Golang Developer Location: Plano, TX (3 days onsite/week) Duration: 6 Months+ Face2Fave Interview – Need local to Plano/Dallas C2C Must Have: 9+ years of experience Monitoring experience (i.e. Datadog, Prometheus or other) Golang (Channels, Go Routines) Microservices Event driven architecture experience such as Kafka, Kinesis or other Docker / Kubernetes preferred Testing Nice to Have: Protobuf Go event architecture AWS – ECS, Beanstalk Responsibilities. Develop new features. GoLang (Not as concerned on the version. If they can explain they have worked with concurrency in GO. Channels, Go Routines, is a strong signal of right fit. Library wise. If they have worked with protobufs that would be nice. If they have done GO event architecture would be nice.) They run in Kubernetes cluster. If they have worked with AWS ECS or Beanstalk or AWS Services in general would be nice to have but not required. AWS is more devops and not too important for them to have. Docker for containerization is used here. Testing - Just what you would expect from a dev perspective. Distributed Systems (Microservices), debug issues, root cause analysis. Dealing with Microservices that talk to 3rd party Observability – Datadog (Log Files, tracing, monitoring) – Don’t need to have specific Datadog experience. Monitoring experience in a Microservices environment would do with a comparable tool. Understand difference between logs and metrics. (Have you setup Promethus metrics? For example) Multiple different Microservices (understand the traceability, debug)
