Short text posts > long, crazy carousels. 1. Faster to write 2. Faster to read 3. Faster to learn If I could start all over again from today, I’d choose short text posts every single time. And if you are just getting started today? I spent 3 years testing every possible piece of content under the sun and put it all into a 35 page book for you: https://lnkd.in/erW9q5re 1,873 business owners have this book. p.s. pic is me looking for the impression obsessed, text post haters to come crawling out the floorboards.
Do you see them already coming after you?
So true man! This 7 step content system made me $1.19M in 12 mths Step 1 - I picked the simple outcome we help with → Helping creators make $10k-$30k+ a mth on LinkedIn Step 2 - I wrote down the 3 things holding them back → They are not setup correctly → They are creating confusing content → They are having too many casual chats Step 3 - I took these and inversed them into solutions → Setup a lead-converting profile → Create client attracting content → Turn conversations into calls Step 4 - I only create content solving each → Using stories, lists and steps to make it fun Step 5 - I track leads generated per day → And match the best days to the content Step 6 - I analyse the content to understand why → Then I recreate 3 posts similar, but different Step 7 - I did it for 12 months And since then I've → Got 2,430 inbound leads → Closed $149,800 in 4 weeks → While spending $0 on ads
That's actually what turned me off about LI awhile back — that I felt like I had to put a crazy amount of time into carousels to make a difference. But my shorter text posts seem to be doing just fine, thanks to a bit of help from you ;)
Starting to test this myself. Would you do Short text posts + an image (not a carousel) to illustrate your point?
Yes, but a lot of people mistake this for posts without value. The advice I'd give: 1. Start with one takeaway (Matt's here is "Short posts are better than long ones) 2. Give context in as few words as possible (Matt's 3 point listicle is 9 words) 3. Pair it with media – short, text-only posts have to be literal value-bombs to work. Not that this isn't, but having media (ideally a pic of you, in this case) helps performance.
When you compare the ROI in time - text posts with a pic are the way to go for sure. Esp when you first start out, networking and commenting is what brings in traffic to your posts anyway.
give the photographer some credit man
There is a trend emerging that seems to be turning linkedin into twitter 😂
Short text posts are so digestible, especially in a fast-scrolling world.
I help you grow with Social Copywriting → free book in bio.
