Another tip: Bring about 5 or 6 little snack bags filled with little chocolates. (Reeese's dark thins are the favorite) When you get to the ticket counter, give the person a bag and say: "if there is room for a free upgrade... please consider me? Have a great day/night!". Do the same at the check in counter at the gate. They are not allowed to receive cash tips.... but a little chocolate gives them a little boost of energy....and a smile. Offer it freely.... THEN ask :) Additional tips: Law Enforcement branded bags, Military bags, etc... often get you front of the line... even if you are late. Southwest Airlines has secret items like hazelnut creamer for coffee. Go into the airport with a small bag that has all of your metal items (belt, watch, rings, etc). After checking through security, put it all on and fold the little bag up. Find shoes that are both comfortable WITHOUT metal rod in the sole (most of your mens dress shoes have them). If traveling with babies and little kids, pack about 10 bags filled with earplugs and little candies. Give them out to your neighbors on the plane... they will LOVE you for it!
I would add have a print out of itinery , in case phone dies , pack some protein bars . Use big headphones to block out noise plus won’t fall in plane . Wear shoes that don’t have lots of laces. Egg in plane , lucky neighbour
