The holiday season is in full swing, and while it’s a time of joy and celebration, it can also be challenging to stay motivated and focused at work. Between the influx of PTO, shortened work weeks, and the holiday hustle, productivity can slow down, especially as many of your colleagues take time off. But here’s the silver lining: when most people are out, you have an opportunity to use this quieter period to your advantage! Here are some ways to stay productive, focused, and motivated: Prioritize and Plan: Reassess your current tasks and prioritize what needs to be done. Adjust your goals to reflect the limited availability of team members, ensuring you’re still moving forward without feeling overwhelmed. Set Realistic Expectations: Be kind to yourself and your team. The holiday season isn't business as usual, so set realistic expectations for what you can achieve. Engage in Personal Development: Use this quieter time to invest in yourself. Learn a new skill, complete an online course, or read up on the latest trends in your field. This is time well spent that can pay off big when the new year begins. Connect & Reflect: Reach out to your team members who are working and schedule short check-ins. Reflect on your successes and areas for improvement from the past year and think about what you want to achieve in the year ahead. Maintain Balance: Don’t forget to take breaks and enjoy the season! Balanced work leads to sustainable productivity and keeps your energy levels up. The holidays are meant to be a time of reflection and recharge. By approaching this season with a balanced, mindful strategy, you can stay motivated and turn a potentially slower period into an opportunity for growth. 💡 How do you stay productive during the holiday season? Tip of the Month: Book Holidays For The Whole Year As the holiday season approaches, we are reminded that business can become all-consuming with rarely a chance to switch off. However, despite the desperate need for an occasional holiday from a wellbeing point of view, the fact is that many key people suffer a great deal more stress as the holiday season approaches and they face having to take time off; holidays can even be seen as an inconvenience! Much of this is due to the practice of late booking and attempting to fit something in around work commitments at the time. As this usually leads to combined feelings of both frustration and guilt, you are clearly not going to be the best of company for your partner or family with that mindset. A good tip that’s worked well for many executives is to take the opposite approach. Start each year by booking all the holidays or long weekends you want to take during the year and enter them into your calendar. Not only do you look forward to the breaks, it’s also surprisingly easier to plan your work around them. Try it and see, starting with your plans for the rest of this year.

If you’re struggling to stay motivated with the holidays approaching, I’m going to show you the best way to push through. There are just 10 working days left in the year. (minus weekends and —if you’re lucky— company shutdowns during the final week of the year) It feels like there’s barely enough time to accomplish anything. And the challenges stack up: -The overall energy is starting to wind down. -Spending time with friends and family is a priority. -Travel plans and holiday prep are taking up mental space. -Potential buyers and prospects might be out for the holidays. -Reflecting on the end of one year blends with preparation for the next. In any other season, 10 working days might feel like plenty of time to start something new or achieve important goals. But personally, with the distractions piling up and the clock ticking down, all I really want to do is chill out. The solution? A mindset shift. Time is beyond your control, and the future is unwritten. The only thing you 𝘤𝘢𝘯 control is your effort in the present. And the best way forward is to just begin. If you start (and finish) just one item on your priority list each day, it’s progress. -Something is better than nothing. -Finished is better than perfect. -Taking action is better than freezing up. Making an effort doesn’t guarantee you’ll hit every year-end goal. But giving in to the pressure 𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘴 that you won’t. So take a deep breath, focus on what’s in front of you, and pick a starting point. But most importantly— Just begin.

For many, the holiday season means festive cheer and plans for some time out. But for most graduates or junior staff, the reality can be far from downtime to showing up at work while others enjoy their well-deserved break. Being lower in the hierarchy often means you are not first in line for holiday leave. Here’s how to navigate this period gracefully: ensure you are productive, can balance work and life, and command respect from peers and supervisors. Today was the last day before our two week break. After reducing workloads slowly we have been pretty much done on Wednesday evening, two days earlier than planned. Let’s take a look at the importance of breaks today. Here are some points: 1. Morale Boost 2. Creativity Boost 3. Improved Physical and Mental Health 4. Company Loyalty and Retention 5. Positive Company Culture 6. Work-Life Balance 7. Adaption to Modern Workforce Expectations Tip: You can use extra holidays as a powerful tool for motivation and performance. Set goals that give employees extra paid time off if they achieve them. Don’t see holidays as a perk but a strategic investment in your company’s most valuable asset - its people. That’s what we do. For the next two weeks we will not be reachable because time off is time off for us. Please spare us with sales pitches (they will not be answered) and think about holidays too. Have a great time!
