It's groundhog day over here! "2023 was all about moving the business to profitability, we've been working hard to restructure the business and we should get there by H2 2024. Then we're really going to turn the heat up on hiring in 2025" Sound familiar? It's a VERY popular refrain, most of the VC / PE backed tech companies are in the same boat. When things turn (and turn they will) it is going to go nuts! It's going to cause a significant challenge for companies that have scaled back their Talent Acquisition teams. A repeat of 2021's job market bonanza (that's the technical term) would be a nightmare for candidate experience and companies alike. So think differently. - Build capability now - Build your Talent function now - Align them/us to your broader business outcomes - Expand their focus to internal mobility and talent management - Hire talent today that you won't be able to compete for in 2025 when the craziness starts - EXPECT MORE
