DX for forestry Kashima will also start a service to support forest conservation for local governments and companies in June. Investigate the forest ecosystem with an autonomous flying drone. It can be measured 30 times faster than the conventional one. In addition to using labor-saving technology for forestry and disaster prevention, they will also incorporate the demand of companies that focus on restoring the ecosystem. Kashima has developed a technology that uses drones to collect about 10 hectares of forest data in a day. Drones can fly automatically while avoiding detected trees. The installed laser scanner measures the thickness of trees and the shape of the earth's surface, and reproduces the forest in a virtual space. The amount of data is more than examining from the sky with satellites and aircraft, and the distribution of tree species and underweeds can also be estimated.
