Yes, you can literally ~feel~ confident, because experiencing confidence releases certain feel-good chemicals in your system. And it goes both ways: by activating these neurochemicals, one can boost their confidence in the moment. Listen to this excellent episode to find out more or read the transcript at https://lnkd.in/geE5fkNp My favorite learnings from this episode are about the positive contagion of courage and believing mirrors. Move one person in the audience to share, and you break the blockage. Find one person whose feedback boosts your confidence, and you get the energy to pass it along.

Curious about the #neuroscience of confidence growth? Just dropped ⬇️⬇️. Listen in! I had the pleasure of speaking to Jon Krohn for “The Neuroscientific Guide to Confidence” on the SuperDataScience podcast last week. If you’re looking for an empowering and practical guide to boost your confidence, as well as understand the neural mechanisms behind this –> this is for you: https://lnkd.in/dtmGqURr *Highlights include:* -> the role of neuroscience in amplifying positive emotions -> the intrinsic link between confidence and social connectivity -> how to enhance brain chemistry in a group setting -> how confidence can be developed like a muscle Not only is Jon the master host of SDS, but also has a Ph.D. in neuroscience, so it was pretty groovy to deep dive into this topic together. Superdatascience is also the most listened to podcast in the data science community with over 4 million subscribers so they are well worth checking out! Let me know what you think! #podcast #confidence #founders

What do you listen to when you need to focus? For me, it depends on the task. If I'm filtering information that involves rapid eye movement and scanning then it's some form of EDM, typically Chase & Status. If it's physical, shovelling soil or mowing the grass then it's usually some form of rock, Foo Fighters or my newly rediscovered Blink-182. But... If I want to do really deep work then I tune into Binaural Beats. These are a frequency-following response that occurs when a person hears two tones at slightly different frequencies through headphones. Get it? No me either but it works and was recommended on a podcast by Andrew Huberman, Professor and Neuroscientist at Stanford Univeristy. I'll drop a link to the podcast and to a Spotify playlist in the first comment. I highly recommend it if you are trying to focus and do some deep work. #focus #deepwork #neuroscience

I was amazed by how much Jon Krohn's episode of the SuperDataScience Podcast made me rethink the pace of AI development and the importance of Responsible AI (RAI). It also inspired me to revisit two of Tim Urban’s iconic blog posts on the Artificial Intelligence Revolution: • Part 1: The Road to Superintelligence (https://lnkd.in/eCsN5Z6d) • Part 2: The AI Revolution: Our Immortality or Extinction (https://lnkd.in/e96TXtmn) Reflecting on these from their 2015 publication to today is eye-opening. Back then, AI struggled with something as simple as understanding a children's book paragraph. Fast forward to now, and tools like GPT-4 are accomplishing tasks that seemed like science fiction not that too long ago. Here’s an experiment I tried: 📖 I shared a photo of a book excerpt with GPT-4 and asked it to: 1️⃣ Summarize the main point. 2️⃣ Identify the subject. 3️⃣ Name the author and book. With zero additional context, GPT-4 immediately nailed the first two and, after one follow-up photo, identified the author and book correctly. While we can debate whether this reflects true "understanding," it’s undeniable that AI capabilities have grown exponentially. 💡 So, what’s next? I firmly believe AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) will arrive within our lifetime. ASI (Artificial Superintelligence), however, remains harder to predict. This brings me to a critical question: How do we ensure Responsible AI (RAI) becomes a universal standard? • Not all developers will adopt RAI principles. • AI often behaves in unexpected ways (e.g., the "AI Scientist" rewriting its own code). • Can we design guardrails that prevent AI from pursuing goals "at any cost"? 🤔 Let’s discuss: • How do we better understand and anticipate AI behavior? • Are impenetrable AI guardrails a realistic goal—or are we chasing an impossible standard? • How can developers become champions of RAI in an unpredictable landscape? Jon Krohn's SDS episode and Tim’s blogs left me reflecting deeply, and I’d love to hear your thoughts! Let’s discuss where AI is headed and how we can shape it responsibly. #RAI #genai #aiml
Something different for you: In today's episode, Bella Shing interviews both Jennifer Hill and me on a broad range of questions related to A.I., intelligence, neuroscience and (*gasp*) consciousness! Looking forward to hearing what you think of this episode format, which is unlike anything we've ever done before. If you like it, I'll do it again :) Jennifer Hill is: • Serial entrepreneur currently building OptiMatch, where she serves as CEO. • Exceptional speaker (to audiences as large as 100,000!), including regular collaborations with the renowned Deepak Chopra. • Host of the "Regarding Consciousness" podcast. Bella Shing is a film producer (including working with Tarantino on "Kill Bill"!) and entrepreneur who co-founded Coherence Education. She leads the Lisbon chapter of Light DAO, the organization that hosted this recording in Portugal last week. Thanks to Lucy Antrobus for suggesting me for this speaking opportunity, which was a fascinating and fun experience. The "Super Data Science Podcast with Jon Krohn" is available on all major podcasting platforms and a video version is on YouTube. This is Episode #838! #superdatascience #ai #intelligence #neuroscience #consciousness

Our sense of purpose is tied to the systems around us—our families, communities, even the universe—and understanding how we fit into these complex, interconnected webs. From the neurons firing in your brain to the city, family and community you live in, everything operates as a system. By viewing ourselves as part of these systems, our brain activity opens up to new types of connectivity. We start to see patterns, connections, and roles that we can play. BRAIN CONNECTIONS IMPROVE WHEN WE THINK OF OUR INTERCONNECTEDNESS Brain research shows higher connectivity of important brain networks in people who see the world from a larger, systems view. It’s about going beyond the "here-and-now" (or "there-and-then"), and reflecting on how various systems and processes are connected. It's about transcending what is observable. Less talk about what people are doing, and more thinking about how all the different cycles of history, culture, family dynamics, and contexts come together. Research suggest that this kind of systems approach to how we make meaning about others' behavior and the world around us activates particular networks in the brain that help us become more agile, and more adaptive. Learn all about this, and get specific examples of how to do it in Season 4, Episode 8 of the Mindset Neuroscience podcast. Find it on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and stefaniefaye.com/podcast #purpose #systemsthinking #neuroscience #neurosciencepodcast

I have seen how technology including #ai and its cousin #vr transforms business and customer experience. Here, it's an application of technology to mental health. #innovation that can change lives.
This is insane. Mindset and psychology expert Elan Gelfand just hosted an episode of his podcast, "Abundant Thinking," with esteemed and accredited Bioengineer and Neuroscience researcher Michael Iwashima as the guest. Together, with Elan's background talking with the world's best life coaches and psychologists in his Self-Help podcast, and Michael's background as a top researcher of Neuroscience and Bioengineering, they reveal interesting ways to get your brain in that perfect focused, ZONE state or in that calm, agile state, through interesting ways. I personally loved this episode and I'm so happy that these two great friends and mentors of mine got together to make this amazing content. https://lnkd.in/gm2S-H3r
