Did you know that 69% of 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 with your spouse are 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲? A couple of weeks ago, Titus Ting and I gathered over some vegan burgers (super macho right!). As we decompressed and share about what was going on in our lives, wins, and little points of friction, We ended up opening up about some difficult incidents that we had experienced involving our significant others. I emphasize.... we *shared*, not complained😂 And that sharing came to the us talking about the "69% problems" ________ Where research by the John Gottman found that 69% of all problems in a relationship are unsolvable. And a lot of the time, 69% of your problems will come from the same source. These may be things like personality traits your partner has that rub you the wrong way, or long-standing issues around commonly recurring themes like money, remembering plans or important dates. ________ So after talking a little bit, we found ourselves feeling a lot lighter, and thinking more proactively about how we want to show up for our spouses especially around the "69% problems"! and we thought, "We can't be the only dudes who deal with this" So, the idea for Bro's Nights were born. Specifically, one for the married bros out there! Facilitated sessions for us to unload, unpack, and learn more about specific problems that different facets of men face - so we can then move forth productively! Mr. Roberts (1955 Henry Fonda WWII Navy movie). Do you have a favorite memory? I’ll focus on professional memories, as I have 7 kids and too many family memories to choose from. When I joined TLO (Child Rescue Coalition’s predecessor), I’d come from an email marketing company, which wasn’t the sort of job you told your kids about with an abundance of pride. On my first week at TLO, Hank Asher called us all together and told us that we’d caught a pedophile who turned out to be an Alaskan county official pediatrician who inspected rape cases. I just remember thinking that not only had I finally found the perfect job, but that I finally had one I could tell my kids about with pride. What's your favorite sport to watch? Hockey (Go Panthers!) What types of books do you like to read? Fiction: Nautical fiction, mostly of the Napoleonic Era. Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Non-Fiction: Historical works, mostly military. Which unconventional animal do you wish you could have as a pet? An android dog. That way it’ll never eat, shed or die. (And maybe it’d be able to play my Spotify 80’s playlist!!)

It's been a wild couple of months, but I'm finally back in business! We enjoyed a beautiful family holiday in France; my youngest started school (and my eldest returned); and my beautiful little sister got married to a man that I am more than proud to call my brother-in-law.
