Ever wonder why cults are so persuasive? Recognizing and resisting cult tactics can be straightforward: You might think cults use complex, mystical methods. But, many cult tactics are as simple as isolating individuals and repeating messages. I used to underestimate these techniques until my own experience in a cult showed me how subtle they can be. I noticed patterns in manipulation tactics that were eerily similar to everyday interactions. Here's an easy way to stay alert: Start by learning about basic tactics like isolation, love bombing, and repetition. Notice when these tactics appear in everyday situations, such as in ads or group settings. Understanding these techniques has helped me avoid manipulation and educate others on the risks. It makes spotting and explaining these tactics much easier. Next time you're in a group or consuming media, look for these signs. Share your findings with those around you. You'll find this knowledge sharpens your awareness and protects you from undue influence.

Thanks Adam, for creating this simple but powerful ~3-minute video on how AI can support unit design.
Bonus Post 😀 I've had many curriculum folks ask how this might help with unit design. I decided to put Claude to the test (you can do this in ChatGPT too) and it did an amazing job with Backwards Design and spiced it up with GenAI. Here is a video where I walk you through the prompt. https://lnkd.in/g_AknNpN Richard Charles, Ph.D., GSP Advanced Learning Partnerships, Inc Amos Fodchuk Rachel Fruin Julie Foss Emma Braaten Joe Ableidinger Paige Johnson (she/her) Neil S. “The human voice is the most perfect instrument of all.” – Arvo Pärt 🎶 I'm excited to share something I’ve been working on recently – I used AI to transform Rihanna’s voice into BTS Jungkook’s 🎤 using the RVC model (Retrieval-based Voice Conversion). It was a fun and challenging experience to bring voice conversion to life through technology! 🚀 🎯 Why did I do this? Recently, while working on 🎧 music-related projects, I started exploring ways to apply technology in more creative and innovative ways. One area that caught my attention was voice conversion. As I dived deeper into the topic, I came across the RVC model and decided to further research this field. 📚 After expanding my understanding of RVC models and their applications, I successfully completed a project where I transformed Rihanna’s voice into BTS Jungkook’s using AI-driven voice conversion. This experience has not only boosted my technical knowledge but also demonstrated the immense potential of machine learning in the music and entertainment industry. 🎵✨ 🔍 What is the RVC model? RVC is an exciting technology that uses machine learning to analyze and mimic voice characteristics, making it possible to convert one voice into another. 🔄 A special thank you to my mentor, Balamurugan Varadarajan, for their invaluable guidance and support throughout this journey. Your insights and encouragement have been instrumental in making this project a success. ✨ If you’re interested in how it works or want to dive into voice tech, feel free to check out my blog where I break down the step-by-step process of training an RVC mode #AI #machinelearning #RVC #voiceconversion #python #techtrends #innovation

Lets expand on The Feynman Technique and how to use it. ➡️ What is it? A method for deeply understanding a concept by explaining it as simply as possible. ➡️ Why use it? If you can’t explain something clearly, you don’t truly understand it. ➡️ How to use it? 1. Pick a concept you want to understand 2. Explain it in simple terms, as if teaching it to a child (I like using pop culture analogies) 3. Identify gaps in your understanding where you struggle to explain things clearly. 4. Go back and study the gaps until you can explain them simply. 5. Repeat the process, refining your explanation. #AIInnovation #SkillDevelopment

The first step to solving a problem is to recognize that there is a problem and then form a problem statement. More often than not we start with For/Against arguments which can prove counterintuitive, leading us nowhere. #problemsolving

Maslow’s hierarchy is well known, but I had not known about Z theory until recently. This article by Tim Yu, lays out where we were and where we should be going with using Z theory. My takeaway is that often times I get stuck in the D-realm with clients and unsure how to increase their motivation to increase self-efficacy to meet these resource needs. Focusing on the B-realm items (love, language, cognition, values) could actually “unlock” the needed motivation or drive to move toward more self-efficacy. The updated chart to me is a good backdrop to keep in mind as I move with clients and help them move toward their goals. Worth a read.
