Ariel, why are your rates so goddamn high? Well, dearest gentle-client, because I do a lot of unpaid work throughout the year that I must take into account in my rate including: -holding yearly/quarterly/monthly/weekly/daily meetings with myself to plan and strategize -marketing myself and services on social media -writing said content for social media -sending and answering messages -holding meetings with prospective clients, which sometimes go nowhere, or worse, I'm ghosted -brainstorming ideas -researching ideas for magazines, drafting a pitch, researching the editor's email, and sending the pitch -sending invoices -networking in person -writing Letters of Introduction, researching company leaders, and pitching them -maintaining healthy network relationships -maintaining my CRM spreadsheet -doing my taxes -sending proposals -applying to jobs on Upwork and other platforms -attending professional meetings and associations -learning through continuing education courses -driving to meetings when they're in person -updating my website -making new accounts on various freelancer websites -going over my business budget Oh yeah, and I'm a motherfucking good writer. www.slickwriting.com #freelancewriter #freelancewriting #ghostwriting #ghostwriter

3 quick ways to avoid writer's block While writing copy... First of all... You shouldn't have writer's block. I mean if you have done proper research then you can't have writer's block. ...it just doesn't make sense. Anyways, If you have that blank page in front of you and you're staring at it. These tips are for you. 1. Use a Template: Now, I am not in favor of using templates. But, If you're stuck and you need copy written fast. Do it!!! Use templates but only when you get stuck. Don't make it a habit or you'll lose your spark and creativity. And one thing, While using them don't copy and paste. Use your own subject material. And on that note... 2. Use structures: Extract structures from top performing copy and save them somewhere. These structures will guide you in the right direction. And use your own subject material. You get subject material by doing effective research. Use your market's words, pain points, desires, objections, etc. 3. Swipe Stuff: Now this is the worst thing you can do. And the best thing as well. Only if you do it right. Worst if you copy-paste the best sales pages of your niche. Best if you only see the whole thing analyze it break it down and then write your own version of that swipe. Again, DON'T COPY & PASTE. It never works. See Ya! P.S. Repost to help more writers...

As a top-rated wordsmith on Upwork, I've had the pleasure of collaborating with clients across a vast array of industries, weaving their ideas into stories that resonate. Over the years, I've carefully polished my skills, and today, I’m delighted to share four writing tips that have been my guiding stars in delivering exceptional content. 1. Understand Your Audience: It’s crucial to know who you’re writing for. Whether it’s a blog post, article, or website content, understanding your audience’s needs, preferences, and pain points allows you to tailor your message effectively. 2. Clarity Over Complexity: While it might be tempting to use complex vocabulary and intricate sentence structures, clarity should always come first. Your goal is to communicate, not to confuse. Keep your writing simple, concise, and direct. 3. Embrace the Editing Process: Writing is rewriting. Don’t be afraid to revise and refine your work multiple times. The editing process is where your content truly shines, so take the time to polish every detail. 4. Keep Learning: The world of writing is constantly evolving. Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and techniques. Invest in continuous learning, whether through courses, reading, or feedback from peers and clients. Remember, great writing isn’t just about putting words on a page—it’s about creating a connection with your readers. What writing tips have worked best for you? My new client loved my writing & paid me more. Recently, I got a new client on Upwork. She's an advocate & started her new website. It's all about writing “law” blogs. The initial agreed pay was $7 per blog of 500 words. But she increased the pay after submitting the 1st blog work. She said — you made Law less "Lawyery" and more "Reader-Friendly". I love your writing style. And I got unexpected increament. (As a writer, I loved this moment. Who doesn't?😁) So I want to share with you my writing style. Yeah it's a very small secret from an ocean of secrets 4 (𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲) 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗴 & 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲: → Even the 6th-grade version of you can understand my writing. (Engaging but still readable content) → You won't “yawn” when you read my content (I add a very little tiny small pinch of humour) → Short & sweet but still has every piece of information. (Deep research & it consumes most of my time 😖) → No fluffy, no stuffing, man. (People-centric & metrics-centric). 𝐏.𝐒: little appreciation & sometimes increments motivate the writing spirit of every writer. ×××-----------Dead End---------××× #contentwriting #contentwriter #writerscommunity #freelancewriter #seowriter #seo #storyteller #freelancecontentwriter

Need a technical white paper or ebook? I'm halfway through a security whitepaper and have availability to take on another white paper project. Whether you're looking to create a Top of Funnel (TOFU) or a Bottom of Funnel (BOFU) piece, maybe I can help. As a technical copywriter who's written for, and helped, clients such as Aviva, Barclays, CloudFlare, Fidelity, Microsoft, and many more, I can likely do the same for you. Clients have told me that one of the biggest problems they have is finding professional, reliable, and trustworthy writers. (The second biggest being it's difficult to find one who asks the right questions and digs deep enough to understand your product.) As Junli Wang, of Advance.AI says, that won't ever be a problem with me: "Professionalism: very professional and logistic, I like the freelancer ask questions before get down to writing. It will promise he/she get a good understanding of what do you want, and not goes in the wrong or accurate direction. When finding and working with freelancer, the pain point is always the freelancer doesn't know your needs or products well. If you are also suffering with such concerns, Russ is a good choice for you. He promises to get things clearly before working for you, so to have a good result. He knows well of how to have best delivering. Communication: good communication, always stick with time, and give you delivering stage by stage. Feel very comfortable when working with Russ, although my company sometimes give a late response. Piece: The most satisfied for me so far. Strongly recommended!" Get in touch if you need my help.

Getting new freelance writing clients can be tough. But there’s one thing that can help: 👉🏼 Having “secret ingredients” in your portfolio (Am I talking about the secret Krabby Patty formula? HECK NO. I’d never reveal that.) (My toddler is really into SpongeBob right now) I’m talking about the critical extra elements each writing portfolio should have. We all know the basics: - Links to sample work - A section about you - Your contact info But im talking specifically about the hard-hitting pieces that make or break your next pitch. 🤫 Wanna know what they are? If you’re a mama who writes, I’m sharing them in the Copy Mamas newsletter tomorrow. Want in? Get on the list here: https://lnkd.in/e59fsZWB See ya tomorrow 🫡
