1 Superior Ingredient All Successful Companies Have In Common (It's not what you think) Yeah, we've all have heard it before, the foundational ingredients of business success. These are easily the most obvious answers: They have breakthrough products They have a world-class team and network They have deep pockets They have the most brilliant CEO's Etc. These are without a doubt, priceless ingredients of success. But one reason among others why 99% of their clients like them over their competition, is they trust them. Don't start with why. Why you do it doesn't matter. Every company knows their why. Clients seldom ask about it anyway because it's already established. Not that it is not essential. However, the real separator between the amateurs and the pros absolutely boils down to how you do things. Why? Because it demonstrates your expertise, experience and that obsession to align everything that you do to gain trust from the get go. When you begin to shift on asking how instead of why, you automatically change your focus from you to your clients' needs, desires and reasons. You may have the biggest and most compelling why but it won't beat the most successful companies with the clearest how in demonstrating trust. If you want to start all over again, begin with how. A recent business cliché doing the rounds on the venerable organ we call LinkedIn is "you NEVER learn from success, you ALWAYS learn from failure". Its as bad as "the ONE THING that will improve your ...". It's no more than superficial attention grabbing pabulum. You can learn SO MUCH about success. Why do people by the millions read the biographies of successful people? They want the recipe. And sometimes you don't learn ANYTHING from failure eg being made redundant when you were smashing it out the park and noone can give you a good reason | a deal that goes quiet and you can't get an insight as to why etc. Rather than be beguiled by pleasing sounding platitudes, do you have a filter to see if it checks out with your experience?

I asked one of my clients to reflect on the success of his business. His answer was so interesting 💡 First, a bit of context. I’m writing the company’s brand story, and spent some time interviewing one of the founders this morning. He told me that his company is successful against all the odds. He started it with an old colleague in April 2020, with no funding and no assets. Within just a few months, they had their first office. Statistically speaking, he was more likely to win the lottery than make this business work. Yet within 4 years, they were turning over six figures. When I asked him what the secret to his success was, he told me it was a heady combo of unwavering confidence and honest reflection on their limitations. What does that mean? 1. Their vision and drive is rock solid 2. They’re agile and they take risks whenever they need to 3. Everyone wants to work with them because they’re known to treat their staff so well, so they’re able handpick their team from across the industry 4. They invest in experts to help make their business successful. Their approach isn’t rocket science, yet so many businesses fail because they’re not following the same simple principles 🧐

Feeling pulled in too many directions? Scaling a business often means juggling opportunities, but here’s the crux of the issue — saying ‘yes’ to everything can dilute your impact. To grow effectively, you need to prioritise around your core niche. Focus on what truly aligns with your long-term vision and be prepared to say ‘no’ to the distractions. Re-prioritising isn’t about doing less — it’s about doing what matters most. What can you let go of to refocus on your unique strengths?” “Take a step back, realign, and focus on what truly drives growth.” Schedule a call with me at www.dajcs.co.uk if you want to chat through how to go about finding your core focus. #CoreFocus #Niche #IdealCustomer

Who Else Wants Their Business To Thrive With A Dream Team Of Advisors? A startup founder I recently advised was struggling to get market traction. Their product was innovative, but they weren't sure if it was the right fit for their target audience. They were hesitant to invest more resources without knowing if their product would truly resonate with customers. So, I suggested they create a client advisory board. The result? Invaluable feedback that helped them refine their product, identify new features, and even land their first major customer. This is the power of tapping into the collective wisdom of your customers. Imagine having a group of passionate advocates who can: - Provide honest feedback - Identify pain points and opportunities - Amplify your reach A client advisory board is like having a group of trusted advisors who are invested in your success. But it's not always easy to build one. It takes time, effort, and a willingness to listen. But the rewards are worth it.
