👽 Can techies actually talk to non tech-people? Or is it a mission impossible? Well, it’s the latter. At least sometimes I think that, when new clients talk about their experiences with techies. We had a new client come to us with an already existing Storyblok website.  They had many unanswered questions about how to use Storyblok effectively. This lack of clear information was causing them significant anxiety. During our call, we didn’t just dive deep into the technical how-tos. Instead, we focused on explaining the functionalities in simple terms — the what and the why, without the intimidating tech speak. The relief was visible on our clients' faces. They valued so much what actually should be self-evident. 👉 The takeaway? When discussing tech, it's crucial to zoom out and think about how to make the information relatable and reassuring. This approach doesn't just apply to techies. It's a useful strategy for anyone looking to bridge the gap between expertise and everyday understanding. What do you think? How Blink IT Became a Game Changer Blink IT started small, but they did some smart things to become a big player in the tech world. Here's how they did it: The Problem: Blink IT was like a small fish in a big pond. They needed to find a way to stand out in the crowded tech world. The Solution: 1. Smart Leaders: - The folks in charge at Blink IT knew they had to do things differently. They decided to focus on making software that was easy for people to use. 2. Expert Help: - They got advice from really smart people who knew about marketing and making good products. This helped them make software that people liked using. 3. Making a Brand People Like: - Blink IT worked hard to make a brand that people trusted and liked. They made sure their products were known for being good quality. 4. Changing How They Did Things: - Blink IT changed how they worked to keep up with what people needed and how technology was changing. Rant about tech (from a personal perspective). Technology and software are getting smarter and smarter and I find myself not using 95% of it. I feel like a lot of the improvements coming these days are like building an escalator for a 2 step staircase. I mean, I guess it's easier and more convenient. In reality, I gain nothing though. It's such a shame that companies feel the need to keep getting bigger and bigger. I often see a company doing some cool software product. I begin to use it and think it's great. Then 2-5 years pass, and they get massive VC funding or simply just scale, scale, scale so the software outgrows the simplicity I was looking for. Now I have to start over. We still have the innovation crowd who have followed especially Apple over the last 25 (50) years. Who loves new innovative stuff that is going to make everything easier and "smarter." Even though removing tech would make everything easier and more joyful. I get I am not "all users" and there will often be features a lot of people like which I don't find any use for. The scale of it is unbelievable though. I long for more companies making a cool product, deciding it's "done" and then doing 95% maintenance on it and only adding new features when the world changes. Lean back, and make some money. The only place I feel like more (cr*p) is worth it, is communication apps. It's super hard communicating, and granting more tools which makes it easier and more expressive for more people is primarily good - even though I don't use it. Rant end. Positive end note: We live better, easier, and "smarter" today than ever - the world is a lovely place for a lot of people even though the world is burning (some places). Let's try to focus on the good and let the rest be a challenge we can do together <3

MY TECH JOURNEY: INSPIRED BY MY HUSBAND'S GUIDANCE Solih Abdulhakeem In the tapestry of my life, woven with threads of ambition and determination, one figure stands out as my guiding light: My Husband. His unwavering support and boundless belief in my abilities have been the driving force behind my journey into the world of technology. From the very beginning, my husband recognized my passion for all things tech. He saw the spark in my eyes whenever I talked about coding, data analysis, or software development. Instead of merely acknowledging it, he nurtured it, encouraging me to pursue my interests and explore new horizons. As I embarked on my tech journey, my husband became my mentor, my sounding board, and my biggest cheerleader. He patiently listened to my ideas, offered invaluable advice, and stood by me through the inevitable challenges and setbacks. But perhaps the most inspiring aspect of my husband's influence on my tech journey is his unwavering belief in my potential. In moments of doubt or uncertainty, he reminded me of my strengths, encouraged me to push past my limitations, and inspired me to reach for the stars. Through his actions, my husband taught me the importance of resilience, perseverance, and self-belief in the face of adversity. He showed me that no dream is too big and no obstacle too daunting when you have the love and support of someone who believes in you. And so, as I continue on my tech journey, fueled by passion and driven by purpose, I carry with me the lessons learned and the inspiration gained from my husband. His belief in me has been the catalyst for my growth, the beacon that lights my path, and the foundation upon which I build my dreams. In every line of code I write, every algorithm I design, and every problem I solve, I see echoes of his influence, guiding me forward and propelling me toward success. For in him, I have found not only a partner in life but also a source of inspiration and strength on my journey to become the best technologist I can be.

THE MISCONCEPTION ABOUT GOING INTO TECH. As a Tech Advisor who has been in the Tech Space for more than a year, here is an obvious fact: A lot of people rush into Tech without weighing the pros and cons. So far, I discovered a lot of people choose to study a Tech course not because it resonates with them, or because they have the capacity for it but because they heard from their friends that it's the course that is bringing much money at the moment. So they get into it, with so much excitement and with little or no preparation, study for a few weeks, and start getting frustrated because the course seems tougher than they think it would be. When I see cases like this, I always think it's wise to let people know that Tech is not a get-rich-quick scheme, it's a path that requires your consistency, commitment, and above all, EXCELLENCE. You have to do the work by consistently investing in yourself, being ready to learn at a Coding Campus like SQI College of ICT with notable track records, donating your time and effort to your preferred area in Tech, adding excellence to your intelligence, being humble enough to correct your errors, being ready to build not just your portfolio but also connections and being calm enough to know good things actually takes time. In as much as you are eager to put an end to the effect of Sapa by joining the Tech Nation, be aware that you have to do the work, to make things work. Above all, Be valuable, Be approachable, Be excellent in the things you do, And always be updated about the new trends in Tech, to sustain your relevance as the years go by. Yesterday’s Tech Newbies live event was so captivating, you’d wish you were there. It was a reminder that every step is growth and every challenge we face is a sign of how far you've come. Your imposter will always whisper things that leave you feeling inadequate but if you disagree with those thoughts, they will soon become echoes of your past because at the moment of their whispering, they didn’t realize the gravity of your dreams you held or even recognize the progress you've already made. So, be conscious of yourself today and challenge those negative thoughts by taking one step after another. See those whispers as good signs that you’re learning, proof of progress and not signals that you’re unqualified, giving you reasons to isolate yourself. Be kind enough to extend the same grace you give to others to yourself and acknowledge your achievements. Keep going! keep doing! your efforts, though small will announce you just how you imagined it and much more. #TechNewbies

There’s a reason I love to share my tech journey. You probably might learn a thing or two to help you. I will stress on two main things today. 📌 You can’t finish what you didn’t start. I always heard that you needed to start somewhere. Everyone who said that was right. You may have read or heard my story where I didn’t have a laptop when I started my tech journey. So, I had to start with a pen and paper. Who learns codes on a paper? RHODA!!! You don’t grow if you’ve not started. If I didn’t start my tech journey, I wouldn’t even know what works. I wouldn’t get to share this story if I hadn’t started. I wouldn’t also see the need to transition slightly if I hadn’t tried in the first place. 📌 Oluchi Ekwem will always say it only gets worse if you stop. You don’t necessarily need to be the jack of all trades, you just have to pick up that ONE skill you’re so good at and magnify it. Be so good at it that no one can ignore you. Keep trying until you’re so known for it. Keep going. Don’t stop! It’s okay to slow down if you’re getting tired but don’t stop entirely. I can only hope you understand that this context is one where you’ve found the skill you’re sure you’re ready to go with. The world is constantly moving. Be moving too and fast. You may not entirely agree with this but this has been my journey. Thank you for reading through.
